THE NEW FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV

I used the harvest theme for my card, using the basket of apples and the
multi square sentiment from the  new Fall Apple Stamp Set.
You really need to stop over at MFP a Heinrich Co.
and see this beautiful Set, it is a must have along with the
other wonderful new October releases!
I heat embossed the sentiment and after coloring my apples I cut them out
and layered with the gold and black.I used a piece of SU dp for the
fishtail and topped it with a piece made with a MS checkerboard punch.
All was mounted on a piece of kraft base. It is simple
and focused on the wonderful apple harvest. We would
love to have you join in the challenge this week so
be sure to stop over. We have plenty of
great inspiration for you and the winner will receive a
stamp set!

TUTORIAL TIME ON SPEEDY TV

Happy Friday to you all. Today the challenge at TTSTV IS Paper Clay.
I have a lot of upcoming Birthdays so this is one will be for my BIL.
He is a avid fisherman, team fishes and wins quite often! I used 4
different papers with a little stitching and used the big bass from the
On The Fly Set set to emboss in the clay. Added some color, some
fishing line and a hook for a easy peasy man card.My week has
been over the top busy, today is surgeon day so a very long
day and I have a wedding cake due tomorrow so off to
finish all the details. Hope you all have a great weekend :)

Tags and Banners

make for lots of fun creations!
Friends of Speedy TV are challenging you to  use tags and banners  on your creations this week.I decided to do a little of both. I stated out to make a tag with some  little banners but just didnt go that way. I spent a lot of time creating a background with
ink, sprays, paints, stencils and embossing to cover it
all up lol.  I dont know where I got this image but I
liked the funky look to it so that started the ball rolling. Used a Spellbinder floral oval to attach her to after cutting out.The hearts were also cut with a Spellbinder die. I made some flowers with punch and dies then added the little clear butterfly. then some leaves. Added a partial piece of a doily and dotted then strung some pearls and attached to the button. The sentiments come from two sets,         Dyed some ribbon to finish it up.In person the blues match much better and it has a softer look!

Since I have several upcoming birthdays these were made with specific gals in mind. This one is made on  a canvas.First I stitched pocket at the top by which to hang it, then added several rows of meandering stitching to the edges. The black side border was cut several Spellbinder dies then embossed with dotted swiss folder..  The  background was then covered with inks, dyes and texture added with stencils and paste. I made an assortment of flowers with punches, dies.and the new October Release Big Blossom. I stamped it four times on some striped dp, cut it out and layered for better dimension. Also cut a little metal key and added it among the flowers.I love old Keys, they always speak to me about, new adventures and treasures.Using a MFT die I cut several flourishes and cut out some leaves to go with them. After making the two groupings I used a Cherry Lynn die for the butterfly adding little pearl drops for his body.

You know when you start on these canvases they consume you. The inks and dyes go on so nicely and blend easily I could make backgrounds all day long. Kind of reminds me of years ago when I used to do a lot of oil painting.

The bird was a chipboard cut out that I added color to then mounted on cardstock.  The dress form is cut from a PTI die, embossed and some pearls, stickles and ribbon added to.The time piece has a button and brad added to it instead of hands. I used the      set and          sets for part of the sentiment. I love the banner and how it turned out. It is made from pieces cut of thin metal with a Spellbinder die, embossed and inks added for color. They remind me of clothes on a close line lol! Using a long piece of wire I punched holes and strung them adding little coils between each little banner to drape. They are sort of fluttering about freely just like the butterfly. Here is my finished little hanger although it doesnt show I used a old wire clothes hanger and made some curly cues on the ends to hang it by.

Lots of fun things you can do with this theme so hop over to the challenge and join in the fun this week. You could be the winner of the

A New Tutorial today

Our Tutorial at TTSTV is brought to us by  Ginny  and it  is faux cloisonne
This is a quick and easy technique with nice results.  I have used the
Dogwood image for my technique. After embossing it with gold powder
I started the coloring process. I acutally think I need a gold stamp
pad so the embossing looks more solid.

The only pearl I had was some
powder I added some water to and it was a little hard to work with
but it gave okay results. There is a little white showing
along the embossing but the first one I did the pearl was so
thick and covered the embossing so I thinned them the second time and this is the results.I cut out and attached to a embossed distressed piece. The pink  is cut with a Spellbinder Floral Oval.
The dp is a piece left over from a project with no name. Stitched
all on and added some Washi tape my friend Martha sent me
to a distressed strip and then some pearls. The sentiment was stamped
from the  new Big Blossoms Set and added to some striped Washi tape.
Be sure to stop by MFP a Heinrich Co
and check out the Beautiful new October Releases!

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV

Happy Anniversary is our new challenge this week at FOSTV This was one of those crazy
busy weekends with some unexpected things. We celebrated our anniversary so even
though its kinda girly this was my husbands card. Now its that time of the
month and time for the new  October Releases and you will love them!!
Today Im using the beautiful new  Big Blossoms.
After stamping and coloring two of each of them I have
cut them out and layers them for more dimension.
Can't you see so many possibilities with these flowers.
My plaid dp was stitched on and then I cut a frame out
from a Spellbinder and embossed it. The white behind the
frame was also embossed. A few jewels and
the sentiment finishes off the card.

A Paper Bag....

Fridays, love them!! It is time for a new Tutorial Time With Speedy TV
and Jane has challenged us to make a gift bag.
She has a great tutorial with fun suggestions for decorating
a paper bag to use as a gift bag, so stop over to check it out.
This was fun and easy. I keep lunch bags on hand so the decision
was to use brown or white. I decided to go with a brown bag.
I went with Jane's suggestion to emboss it using a lattice folder
and then the top with a cuttle bug border folder After
embossing I used a little ink to highlight the raised areas..Next I
cut the top with a MS daisy punch. I used a pretty oval cut out
my niece gave me. It was cut with a Spellbinder die.

The sunflowers
seemed to be a good choice with the brown oval and brown bag.
After coloring them I cut them out and stickled the bees wings.
I cut the sentiment out with a couple Spellbinder Scalloped Ovals
and attached with a ribbon and brad. A little Fleur De Lis border on the
bottom to fill in space. This was a fun one, thinking I willl
do a couple larger bags and have them made up to go with
some upcoming birthdays gifts. Be sure to check out my
teammates blogs too. My sentiment is from the
Cowgirls Rule Set and the sunflowers are from
the Bring on the Sun Set.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN TEAM B

This weeks Challenge at Tuesday Throwdown is fall colors.
Our Sponsor is Robyn's Fetish and we have some GREAT images
to use for our projects.

Be sure to stop by their store to see all
the images they have available!
I have used the Cornucopia Image for my recipe card.I make
recipe books for my girls and the 7X8 size fits the bags just right.
After coloring my image I cut it  out and matted it on some orange.
I computer generated my recipe then cut out and faux stitched it.
The orange was punched with a MS Daisy punch and then embossed.
The plaid dp is from Lawn Fawn. The yellow was embossed and then
I made a little pumpkin with a 1/2 circle punch and embossed it.
All was stitched together and little dots added to the daisy
centers. My teammates have lots of GREAT inspiration for
you, so be sure to stop by and see them.

Althought it doesnt fit the fall colors bill I did make a second page
using the lovely Stew Pot image perfect for a recipe card
I love these images!
I thought I would share anyways.

Reunion LO

You might have seen other posts about how a group of us girls who
went to school and graduated together have been meeting up in Sedona for several years now.
Each time we have a little celebration on Saturday night, a nice dinner and
part of that includes a gift exchange. We all play the white elephant game and that brings on a lot of craziness as you can image when they dont want to part with their gift!
The first year I made an album with a page devoted to each girl. I used their favorite colors and did a theme depicting their job and or hobbies. I added lots of other goodies and pics of Sedona etc. It was such a hit that since then most of the gals have started making gifts which makes them all the more special. This year I made a recipe book, wooden spoons, oven mitt and this LO.
I didnt take a pic of the recipe book but thought I would share the LO
with you. I did in it browns with the idea that it would be pretty
neutral for whomever got it. The sepia looks red here in the pic but
in person it matches perfectly!I stitched on the brown after
distressing it then added some stenciling using paste and inks.
I made hands for the metal clock using embossing powder and
attached with a brad. The chipboard is a piece I received from
Erin Blegan so not sure who makes it. The fleur de lis are cut from
Spellbinder die. I also used the Spellbinder rolled flower die and  made two from paper and the larger one is made from some screening that I aged.
I like that its dark and blends in yet the see thru element keeps it from being too blob looking or at least in person its that way. The corner of the pic shows my sweet beautiful red headed friend Judy. The pocket watch is from one of MFP a Heinrich Co. the Take Time Set and the piece peaking out of the bottom pic is a stamped with the Pocket Watch Set then torn and stuck under the pic.I added glossy accents to the pocket watch to make it look a little more real. The corner needed something and the webbed ribbon seems to fit the bill. I also used some musical dp under the top pic. All the edges were distressed. This sentiment from the Take Time  Set was totally perfect for this LO. We have been friends from early childhood till now, sixty years, pretty special  dont you think!

This year we all wore long skirts and hats and were going to take  pics in the creek but due to all the rains it was raging and way to dangerous to try to get in so we did lots of pics around the property including this one in the tree.

Happy Friday, I hope you have checked out all the tutorials and the ladies Fabulous creations!
If not be sure to stop by for all the tips and ideas. You may be one of the lucky winner! For my table setting I started with the beautiful images from the new Fall Apples Set.
After coloring them I cut them all out to adhere to my napkin holders and place cards. Using some SU Red for the base I matted some scrap striped dp to the cream and stitched them all together. As you will see the tutorial shows to attach ribbons and tie them together.
I really like the idea because I can untie them and store them flat to be used again. The place cards were made same papers and stitching and a little fishtail tab to put the name onto. Im going to used the place cards for a get together so I pop dotted the names on and can take them off after ward to possibly be used for Thanksgiving.
Today is also TTSTV Challenge. Out tutorial brought to us by Pam Stang is Faux Silk. Made using tissue paper. I was not able to capture the silk texture in my photos but it really is a very nice look. You can hop over to HERE to find the tutorial,
easy and quick to do with great results. My card was made with SU papers and the SU basket weave embossing folder. The image is from the Pussy Willows Set and cut with a Spellbinder scalloped oval and pop dotted on.The flourish is a MFT die. Plenty of stitching and a little button for embellie.
