Technique Saturday

Good Morning Friends today the MFP Challenge is to make a card
using the Bandana Technique. The tutorial is here.
I started making a  background using Tim Holtz  Faded Jeans ink
. Smooshing it around with a little water. After it dried I using the center portion
of the snowflake from the Snowflake Set. I let it dry for a while then started adding the
dots around the image and also added some doodling. I embossed the
sentiment (Hum Along Set) on a band of vellum then added two stars cut with
a Spellbinder die. Wrapped and few layers of white thread. Its shiny and looks
kinda yellow in the pic but its snow white in person.A fun technique and
my teamies have done lots of cool things so check out their creations!!
You have all week to join in the fun. so be sure to stop by.

For all of those of you in the USA don't forget tonight we SPRING ahead!!
I  live on the border of Arizona who does not do Daylight Savings time so its always an
ongoing problem to figure out times. At work our Arizona patients are
always an hour early, its a real pain sometimes lol

Hello March

March is coming in with a real bang. Our weather has been in the high 80's
and supposed to continue for the next couple weeks at least. Now thats nice
but considering we are not close to summer yet,
I think we are in for a Very Long & Hot summer
here in the desert!! Too bad I can't send some along to some
of you who are still having freezing weather!

So our first Tuesday Throwdown Challenge for the month of March is Frame It.
Our Sponsor is My Grafico has provided us with one of the
GREAT Sets of Frames.
They come in black and in color so I have used both for my cards.
I have actually made a set of black and of color. I won't post them all or you will be
scrolling for way to long! So just showing you a couple. The first one
is the round green one. This is my first shaker card. I added
some old sequins I found in some of my art supplies and also
some beads but they all fell to the bottom so
you cant see them. The green floral trim was also from my stash.
Some green sparkles down the center and voila!

Second one is the peach colored star. There is also a pink and an aqua rectangle.
The same 4 frames are in black as well.
I used a swirled embossing folder for the background. Mounted the star
on some brown and cut it out to help show it up a little better
. A looped die border that I think might be PTI but not sure.
I also added a string of
peachy colored pearls to give it a softer look.

Honestly my cards aren't cut crooked!! I didnt realize how crooked the pics were.

Marks Finest Papers Challenge today

Can you believe February is almost gone!
Here at MFP it is Color Challenge Week and the color is brown.
You may use black white and one other color sparingly. I started with a creme
colored base distressed the edges then added the brown strip. It was run thru
a Stampin Up embossing folder then the edges cut with the MS Arches punch..
A little lace on each edge. The teacup is from the Relax A Bit Set cut out and foam
dotted onto the dotted dp scalloped circle. The sentiment is from the Oopsy Daisy Set.
Everything sort of looks mismatched in the photo but in real time it
 actually looks nice together.
Seems all the colors changed in the photo.

Good Morning Friends

Today at  MFP Challenge we are asking you to make a Z Card.
It is so simple, the directions are HHere.
After cutting the base you can decorate however you choose. I used several
different dps just to give the different sides some interest. The pretty edging is
a die from Paper Trey Ink .I used the Black Eyed Susan Set for the images cut out
and added them to the sentiment.. The sentiment is from the    Set and cut out
with a Spellbinder Fancy Label die
. A small hand dyed bow was added.

Tuesday Throwdown

A Day for Daisies is our Sponsor this week and the
theme for TT Challenge is  Layer it Up! I have used the image Pick a Bouquet.
After coloring this sweet image I cut it out and added it to the Spellbinder Oval layered
onto the Fancy Rectangle. There is another layer of dp thats not to visible in the pic and
some lace edging.  The base was water colored with some Tim Holtz green and
mahogany with some random stamping and splattering, Some tea dyed
cheesecloth is tucked under the image and flower. The flower
was cut from some wate rcolored paper and lots of layer.
A little flourish and ribbon dyed to go with it

Good Monring Ladies~~

It is Technique week and our new  MFP Challenge is Block It Off..
.Now you can find the instructions here. This was a fun one with lots of different takes,
so be sure to stop by and check out my talented teamies creations! I have used images
from two different sets. The large blossom is from the Gardenia Set and the two smaller
ones from the  Little Flower Set. After coloring the images I blacked in the block around
and then added a few squiggles around. Dont like the squiggles but just wasnt
ready to scrap all the rest of the work so just went with it!
You know how those little ideas dont always pan out but oh well lol.
My teammates really did some very pretty ones,
so pop over and check theirs out!

Power and Spark Challege

Im entering the Power and Spark Challenge over at  the Power Poppy..
I just love all Marcella's beautiful floral images! Ive never entered so thought today
I would show off one of their new Beautiful Digi Images, Everything's Roses.
The talented team did such an awesome job coloring this image I was totally enticed
to get it. Jennifer Dove colored the teacup in black and made knobs instead of dots,
I was mesmerized by how beautiful it was so I did try to make knobs too.
My coloring is done with water color pencils and doesnt hold a candle to
theirs but it sure was fun to color it anyways. Although it was matted on
a royal blue to match the cup it looks black but it's not in real life!
A little piece of lace and a tied on
button, because this image doesnt really need any embellishments.

Happy Saturday!

Our Challenge this week at MFP is CAS with Hearts.
Now I have to say CAS is a real struggle for me, totally unnatural. With that being
said here is my take on it. I used some Tim Holtz  aged mahogany to splatter a heart .  The sentiments
are from the Love Love Love Set. A card is born. but it seems so plain it makes me
feel like it isnt done lol!  So for all you gals out there who make it look So easy
I envy you. Come show us your version of CAS and make sure you
have hearts. Your will find the rules here...

Tuesday Throwdown~B~

Good Morning Friends, today at Tuesday Throwdown
and they have provided us with images.

Mine is the "Bee Mine" image and the
theme for this week is Paper Piecing. This little bee is rather small so I just
pieced his head, wings and yellow stripes. The wings were cut out
and stickles  added to them before foam dotting them back
on. I decided since the bee was yellow I would go with a Crazy Yellow color scheme
for my Valentine's card. It's for my hubby so he will be cool with yellow lol!
After finishing my bee I cut him with a Spellbinder heart .
The yellow was dry embossed and then added to the dp. The orangish red
hand dyed ribbon was added to go with the orangish red
design on the dp and we have a Crazy Yellow Valentine card!
So it's your turn to show us what paper
pieced beauty you can come up with!!
Stop over today....

New Challenge

There is a new  MFP Challenge today...
This week it is Anything Goes today, so come join the fun..
We would be delighted to see your creations!

I needed a Valentine card so that is my theme for todays card.
.The dp is a scrap I had. I like the taupe and pink colors together.
I just needed to see some
stitching on my card so I ventured out using my crazy
machine that will only sew backwards!! This sewing machine is really
making me crazy,,obviously something has gone haywire in the electronics!
 It is a real challenge
to try to get a sort of straight line, but here it is
with the edges distressed. Two of the
hearts were cut with Spellbinders and the other one is the
center of a doily cut out and a little faux stitching and dotts added.
.The rose image is from
non other than the Rose Set. A little water
coloring and cut it out
for some dimension. The bow is from cheesecloth.
I added the butterfly for a symbol of continued renewing.
Both sentiments are from the  Love Love Love Set.
The little silver heart is very reflective adds
a shimmery touch.

I'm entering my card into the Challenge at:
...
Just Us Girls
Using Die Cuts, Stamp, and flower...
