Come join us at the Pixie Cottage Challenge today for the sketch and or theme, my favorite FLOWERS! Hop on over and check out all the Pixie Creations including our guest designer the talented Jacque! My card is made using the Fairy Molly stamp by Eileen Gutierrez. You can find this stamp at Michelles Scrapbooking and More. The swirly dp is a basic grey and the dots from my scrap box. I stitched on the layers. I used the ek sucess morrocan punch on the white strip and ran thru the dotted swiss folder along with the oval sentiment. The flowers were made with several layers from the SU flower punch and then leaves added. I also made a small tissue flower on the heart and tiny little flowers for her hair.

My project is for Just us Girls Challenge. I used the template from Kelleigh Retzlaff. Its a triagular box that I had to make larger for the little treasure I got my mom. I dont usually do templates and it took a couple tries to get it all enlarged properly but Got it! Instead of making it open from the ends I used a MS punch to make a decorative edge and made it open and close from the top. I then punched and ran the pink strip thru the dotted swiss folder. I used a scalloped punch on the burgandy to make the flowers. I also made baby ones for the tag. I used the nestie # 13 for the tag and ran the burgundy thru the dotted folder also. If you look at pics below you can see that I made it double sidded. I made a loose floppy bow out of the hand dyed seam binding and added some beads cuz my mom loves beads! Finished it off with some little "diamonds" for some added glitz! This is just perfect for my mom cuz she loves vintage styles with flowers and beads!

My niece is a SU demonstrator and asked me to make up some flower samples for her demo tomorrow. This is one and am using it for Stampin' Sisters in Christ. Candace shared a the powerful scripture in Isaiah 40:8. The grass withers and flowers fade but the Word of God stands forever. The challenge was to make flowers. I used a SU circle punch and an oval punch and then shaped the flowers and added a little stickles to the centers. I used the cuttlebug paisley folder for the texture and brushed it with a little chalk to emphasize it. I used some hand dyed seam binding for the bow. Allsorts has a photo of different colors of butterflies so I chose to use the colors.

This is an older Penny Black stamp called apple blossom hope that I stamped several times to make the layers.I used the inspirational photo from Just Us Girls for colors. I cut out the banner, put the happy birthday on it and reattached. All the flowers and leaves were cut and layered. The flower centers and some of the leaves are a third layer . The image is watercolored and then stickles used on all the shadow areas, flower centers and over the stitching at the ends of the two strips. I used the fleur dis le Spellbinders to attach the image. The dps are from My Minds Eye and the strips are three layers, the middle one is punched with a Fiskars punch. The bow is lovely hand dyed seam binding. The base dp is stitched as well as down the centers of bothof the layered strips strips.Crazy 4 Challenges: Sketch & Birthday

The print is from K& Co. I stamped the bird twice and cut one out. I cut strips of greens to add dimension to the branches. I "stiched" around the papers and distressed the kraft strip and newsprint.Brown and aqua chalk was used to color the background of the bird before paper piecing it.The images were watercolored. I used the label 6 & 10 nesties. The edges were punched with the MS iron gate. I used twigs on the image and for the bird in the corner to sit on. The twigs moss and a pod from my garden are the organics in honor of Earth Day.

Its time for another Pixie Cottage Challenge!! If you missed last week notice we are now doing a weekly challenge So Come join us! Be sure and stop back on Friday to find the winners of last weeks challenge! I followed the sketch plus buttons and used one of the new releases, a sweet Scottish girl named Maggie. She is part of the Girls of the World Collection by Lisa Schmidt. This Collection can be found at Michelle's Scrapbooking & More. I watercolored my image and cut her out. I created a earthy background by stamping some color on color and. Used a EK sucess morracan punch to create the scallops around her and foam dotted on. The base is stitched on as is the panel. The daisy border is the MS daisy borderpunch. I used the flower nestie to cut my flower, ran thru the cuttlebug and attached together with a flower button. I attached the little punched daisies and buttons onto the ribbon with smaller ribbon. Attached the button and daisys to the sentiment and foam dotted on. The papers are from K& Co.

If you click on images the paper piecing shows much better. Paper is textured Colorbox .The top is image by Just for fun which I changed by adding the sand and another palm tree and a few more bushes. I watercolored all the images. I paper pieced the trees and two bushes. I used some blue stickles on the water and also a little yellow on the reflection. I ran the brown thru the dotted swiss because it reminded me of grains of sand. I used a MS loop punch for the top. There is a story to the shells. My daughter lives on Whidbey Island in Puget Sound and I was able to go visit her there late last summer. My 4 yr grandson wanted to go hunt crabs when the tide went out. We walked down thru the blackberry laden path to the beach and picked up lots little shells, found some crabs and picked blackberries on the way home. He was very excited each time he would find a little shell for me, so those shells are SPECIAL and I have been wanting to use and I have finally brought them out for this challenge . The bottom frame was to small so I cut it in half and added the necessary width. I drew and stamped extra images then watercolored and paper pieced. I ran two strips thru the dotted swiss for each side of the frame for more sand texture. I printed the poem on the blue paper for water and added. I foam dotted across the top of the frame to lift the back side up a bit to form the stop for the easel card.
The card is for the following challenges:

It is time for another Pixie Cottage Challenge and I am very excited to be a part of the team! Notice that there have been some changes. We will now be a weekly challenge instead of bi weekly and it will now be a "Take your Pick"... you can choose the challenge, theme or both. My card today is made using the sketch plus embossing. I started with one of the cute new releases called Baby Blake by the talented Lisa. Be sure to stop by Michelle's Scrapbooking and More to see all of the newest released stamps. I used foam dots to raise the image and sentiment. I did some stitching, cut out three little rattles to put in the top corner and the leaves for the flowers and colored the image and leaves using watercolors. My teammates have made some fabulous cards so be sure to go see them for some inspiration!

My Coworker is my bosses grandaughter. Her husband had his 40th birthday friday and her son had his 2nd birthday yesterday. My boss asked me to make cards for her and I also made ones to give them. This is one of them for little James. It fits the Crazy 4 Challenge to use kraft as your base. The party used the theme Dora & Diego so I made this simple card to fit that theme. I used the MS botanical stamp for the borders and computer generated sentiments. I found a Dora sketch on line and added a a bit to it colored and mounted on the black. The #2 was pop dotted up and the monkey attached.

My Card was made using a using a Stamabilities fragile beauty. As much as flowers are a part of spring so are insects. I love dragonflies, their shimmery color and how they flit and hover make them so so interesting. I stamped the image then stamped again on vellum and cut out the wings and attached them. I watercolored and also used some pearls on them for shimmer. I used a nestie #10 for the image. The next layer was a nestie #1 which I dotted stickles around the edge. Each layer is foam dotted up. I cut and watercolored some leaves and tucked between the layers. I used My Minds Eye papers out of my stash. I distressed edges and stitched the stripe pieces. I also used a flourish stamp for the corner and then aged all around the creme with a bluegreen. I drew a dragonfly in the upper corner and used some stickles on it also. I had some nifty fiber in my stash so attached it also.
