Welcome to The Pixie Cottage Fall Fun Digital Blog Hop.
If you have arrived here from the talented Carla's blog you are on the right track. If you didn't start at the beginning please go to The Pixie Cottage Blog..First place winner will choose any 5 digis, second 3 digis and third 1 digi. All of the digis we are using today can be found at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.
My first card uses the image Give Thanks.. the pumpkin was made with an oval die, the edges were distressed and then splattered with brown. I cut out and shaded the leaves and stem. The water colored image was layered and it opens to be the actual card.
My second project uses Give Thanks & Count Your Blessings. I covered the display box in cream, stitched on the checked dp then textured and cut strips to cover all edges. The images were all water colored and matted. I whipped up some bread and lemon curd then used the images on the tags and front. This is for my Dad it's his 88th birthday on Tuesday!
My last project uses the fun image Chatty. Friday afternoon some of us ladies traveled to the mountains for a Prayer Summit. After we got into bed some of us talked until about 3 am. After getting home last night I printed out some of the pics and made this as a picture holder. I intend to make one for each of the ladies and Im sure the Chatty image will give them a great laugh as it is so totally appropriate!! To bad I didn't think take a pic of everyone in bed:)

What a glorious day it was, birds singing and the sun shining with just a few clouds floating around. We had rain a few days ago and it has been cloudy off and on all week. Rain in the desert is rare and a real treat!! Everything is fresh and clean and all the plants have greened up and are so pretty after the long hot summer. I love it when it starts to cool off a bit in the fall. My hibiscus had three big lovely blossoms today so thought I would share them with you all.

Creative Belli / Pumpkins

Has been one of those busy weekends but I did sneak in a quick project! My Daughter came home this weekend for her class reunion. She lives on Whidby Island in the Pacific Northwest so we won't see each other for the Thanksgiving Holidays. I made fast batch of Cranberry Orange bread and decorated up a quick paper bag to put it in along with a matching card to send home with her. I also made each of my grandsons a goodie bag. For the boys I used a roll of cellophane cut double layers and zig zag stitched up the sides to make the bags then made the tags to staple on once they were filled.Creative Belli is challenging you to use pumpkins this week. Just punched the foldover edge of the bag and added holes for the ribbon. Did some stitching, cut and textured the pumpkin added so leaves and tendrils. For the card I Ruched the ribbon and added a bow, sentiment, stamped and water colored a little pumpkin .

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge: Step Away from the Square

A friend at our church was diagnosed with breast cancer, she has had surgery, finished chemo and is now doing radiation. She is such a trooper and has such a great attitude and never complains but does feel puny. Needed something different than another thinking of you card. I was looking at the teacups I got from my gramma and thought why not make a teacup shaped card. Crafty Cardmakers challenge is to step away from the square so here it is.
I didnt have any paper with that type of small print so gathered a few little stamps and made 3 sheets of my own dp. It looks a lot like the print on my tea cup. I cut out a teacup shape for the card and decorated it and then thought I could send some tea to go with it. Covered a eye glass case box I had and decorated it and then made covers for the tea bags and the little tab on the string. I made a litte tag with a friendship saying and tucked it under the ribbon to be used for a little bookmark. I used the MS lacy heart punch and the Spellbinders label #10 for the tag on the cup and the label on the box and a scalloped square for the little saying. I had a little teabag stamp and different tea names that I used for the center of the label.

Easy Craft Challenge/Purple

My card used the Verve WCMD sketch and the Easy Craft Challenge to use purple. Isn't this the cutest water colored image, Gillian from Prairie Fairy. Gillian all dressed up just needed lots of over the top embellies so lot lots of glitz, some ribbons and handmade flowers. Plenty of distressed edges and stitching to finish it. Used the spellbinders scalloped oval to cut Gillian out and the sentiment. The glitter doesnt seem to show up but the flourish is stickled as is her necklace, earings ,waistband, flower, sentiment and around the scallops.

I used the Verve WCMD sketch. I also used stickles on the pink dots. The image is a PSX Bleeding Heart water colored, cut out and then layered onto green and cut out again. Sunday, October 3, 2010

Tomorrow is my 13th Anniversary so I made this card for my husband using one of the Verve WCMD sketches. Lavender and aqua are his favorite colors so instead of a manly card I made this. He will like it because I made it for him whether its girly or manly. :) The image is probably more appropriate for a wedding card but I didnt have anything else that was romantic to use. It's a Pixie Cottage stamp by Artish. I computer generated my sentiment for the tag and tied it on with some hand dyed ribbon. I didnt have any small lace so the punched strip is faux lace. The flower is embossed with the dotted swiss folder and I dont know the name of the aqua embossing.
