PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

Are you ready for the Pixie Cottage Challenge today?? We have a great sketch and/or theme of inside and out this week. Pop over and join us and while you are at it check out all the new Pixie Cottage stamps and digis at Michelles Scrapbooks and More! I used some textured green as a base to make my gate card. The striped dp is out of my scrap box. I love this beautiful lily image by Artish. I decided to go with the distressed look. The image is watercolored and popped it up with some mulberry paper tucked behind it. There is a brad to loop the seam binding around to tie the card closed. The burgundy strip is punched with the MS botanical. I used the layout on the inside of my card. continuing with the striped paper and then used the burgandy panels that I embossed with my new cuttlebug folder my sis in law brought me. Used more of the seambinding with a little bow. The scripture was cut out with the #1 nestie with some shrank down lilies added to the corner along with some green mulberry paper then popped up. The side panels were also punched with the MS botanical punch and a distressed, embossed cream strip added. I shrank down the lily image, watercolored and pop dotted them over some olive mulberry paper. On the right side you are seeing the punched border from the front. The pictures do not really capture the nice dimension this card has. My stripe colors and mulberry paper go along with the Color Dare this week. My sweet biased honey thinks it one of the prettiest. :)
This also fits challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Tuesday Throwdown Today~~~Our theme is nautical/water so come see the teams great inspiration and join in! I chose this wonderful Michelle Perkette digi image called just breath to create this shadowbox card. I used a swirl cuttlebug folder to emboss the background and then mounted the watercolored, pearl ex and stickled mermaid. I cut out the center with an oval cutter and then a turquoise piece that I scuffed the edges on as a frame. I use a nestie #10 cut in half to create a frame for the sentiment and added some matching brads. I chose that sentiment because its one of my favorites when stuff if overwhelming you and it seemed appropriate for the mermaid. The forground is stamped and drawn in and then watercolored and some stickles to give some shimmer. The water is created by sponging on chalk. The two edges are created with a MS looped punch. I drew the big flower and made a fuzzy center to match the ones on the mermaid and added stickles to glitz it up. Using a lovely aqua with my not so favorite orange as a complement.
Fits these challenges:
Stamp Something: Use a digi

Crafty Cardmakers:Least & Most
Charisma Cardz: flowers
Cupcake Craft: Dazzle us
Caardvarks:Stamps & wet or dy embossing

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE

Today Pixie Cottage is challenging you to use the sketch and or metal so come on over and join us. My beautiful image is one of the new Pixie Cottage stamps by ArTish. I stamped it twice watercolored and cut them out and layered just the large blossom on top of the whole image. It is mounted on a textured paper cut out with a #4 nestie also used for the sentiment. The metal oval I cut out was silver in color so I sanded it and used alcohol inks to color it. The dps are from BoBunny and the solids are textured colorbox. The pale yellow ran thru dotted swiss folder. The summery flowers and leaves were punched out of scraps. I stitched around the striped pieces and the base and dotted with white on the dp. Buttons were from the good ole button box.
Also fit these Challenges.

Cupcake Craft: Summer Delight
Secret Crafter Saturday: Blooms & Buttons
Fun 2 Stamp:Metal
