TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV #

The days are rushing into full blown summer around here.
Getting hotter by the day, already longing for fall, and I know
while you all were freezing under all the snow we were enjoying
balmy 60 degree weather so I shouldnt whine!.
It is time for TTSTV and this week its brought to us by Pat Gavin.
I've never made a  Floating Spinner card before but she made it very easy with her
step by step Tutorial. My papers are SU and  the beautiful gold
embossed dp from  DCWV Mariposa Stack.
I cut out my oval opening with a Scalloped
Spellbinder as was the image.

My image is from the Columns and Topiaries Set stamped twice and cut out. You can find it here at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
The thread is attached between the two and then attached to the card.
You wind it and close your card. When it is opened it spins,
cute huh. I cut three layers of fish tailsand embossed two of them
for a little tab and died some
ribbon to match for the bow. The sentiment was also cut out
with a Spellbinder label die and attached with the pearls.
Really quite quick and makes for a fun card. We would love
to have you stop over and join our challenge this week.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV #50

For TTSTV Challenge Pam Stang brings us our tutorial this week,,,Weathered Ribbon.
She has several great examples for us.I've done a little hanging
. Starting with a piece of recycled cardboard, I added some different
textures with modeling paste then sprayed with some ink and glimmer mists.            .
The chipboard was colored with paints and stains. The rolled
flowers were made using a Spellbinder die. The butterfly I hand cut out
of cardboard and then added some sprays and paste.I love this Sentiment  from
 the Old Summer Stamp Set
such encouraging words to step out on! I dyed my seam binding
 with several different coloured dies
to give the aged or weathered look. After making up into a bow
the different colours dont show as well in the pic but it does have a great aged look.
Pam has several techniques for different aged looks, stop by
and check out her tutorial then show us your creations.

For those of you in the US celebrating Memorial Day, have a great weekend!

This weeks winner receives this fun stamp set so stop by and show
us your examples of weathered ribbon.

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV # 73

Our Challenge at FOSTV is to make a card for a child
I have made a card for my coworkers son. She has taken a job in
Phoenix and will be leaving in a few weeks. We have worked together
for 9 years. I did her wedding flowers and cake, baby shower and many other occasions.
Ive been such a part of her life it is sort of like sending off your daughter.
When James was born he came to work with her for the first 3 months.
I helped take card of him.I have made all his birthday cakes etc. Sure will be strange to have
them gone, but its a good move as there is much more opportunity for her in the city.
Just wanted to make a fun card to send James off with attached
to some goodies. I have used one of the new May Sets In Tents.
Colored and cut out the different pieces to help make a little dimension.
I redid the background twice trying to give it the forest look,
still not happy but ran out of the dark green paper
so just went with it!
      .
You can find this one and the other new ones at
Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
James' papa takes him on "adventures" hiking, camping etc.We are
all telling him this is another adventure, so this is the perfect set and sentiment!

Be sure to stop by and join our challenge, there is always a great stamp set for the winner..

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV # 49

My favorite day, Friday....and time for a new TTSTV Challenge.
Jane has a great tutorial on making a folding  paper frame to insert
your image into, or actually whatever you would want to frame.
She has made it easy peasy with her step by step instructions so
pop over and check it out! I used some My Minds Eye double sided
paper to create the frame.A little distressing to the edges, little
circles and pearls to cover the corners and some embellies to each flap of the frame.
My image is from the Pucker Up Set and after coloring it
I inserted into the frame.
The sentiment was cut with a Spellbinder looped square and foam dotted on.
The dotted Bo Bunny dp was stitched onto some  taupe Cordination.
Quick and easy. Stop by and join the fun this week.

You could be the winner of the Mini Brick Wall Set.

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV#

Happy Monday, hope you all had a great weekend and Mother's Day. I was able to go visit my daughter and grandsons so mine was GREAT! Here in the desert it is heating up supposed to be up to 106 today and 109 tomorrow. I was hoping the heat would hold off for a bit longer but not so.

So where ever you are we would be delighted to have you come join in our FOSTVchallenge today. It is to create something using  a image of something that is in your home....Now I always have food and am cooking so I made a little pocket  to hold a recipe.

For some crazy reason red checks always remind me of the kitchen.I love this set the Recipe Card Starter, fun for all types of kitchen or cooking related creations. Would love for you to stop by and  visit all my teammates too.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV # 48

Im so happy it is Friday because I am on my way to visit my daughter and grandsons!!
My niece, sister and I are going. Her husband is out to sea right now, we
are all going to celebrate Mothers Day together so hope this post goes
off with out a hitch! Our TTSTVchallenge is brought to us by Pam Stang and it  is to
stamp using acrylic paint  instead of ink.

I applied the paint to my
stamp then whiffed it with water also whiffed my paper then stamped it
. I was going for a water colored look.
It isnt quite as much as I expected but the petals are not solid,
just outlines so couldnt run too much. Cut it out with a Spellbinder  floral
oval die.I love the diamond print and thought it made a fun background
. A couple layers, embossing  fishtail and string to add a little interest.
The butterfly and sentiment is cut from vellum. A voila all done!
Used the  Black Eyed Susan Set & Island Life Set for the sentiment.
I will be around to visit when I get home. Its about a 71/2 hr
drive and we have to come home on Sunday so what little time we have there
we will be spending together, probably wont be on the computer.
Hope you all have a great weekend
and for those who are celebrating Monther's Day have a GREAT one!

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE # 71

Happy Monday to you all! Our new challenge at FOSTV is a NEW JOB
First I used different dyes to color up my chipboard along with some salt.
Using a script embossing folder for the dk green I then applied a little paint
to some of the raised areas and attached to the light green. Using the
bird image from the Pussy Willow Set I stamped and heat embossed it before
cutting out. A simple tissue flower to pick up the aqua color.
I didnt have any sentiments for jobs so used the Congratulations from
the Lots of Luck Set. It doesnt really show but the turquoise
background  has a very fine linen texture that looks nice with the embossing
. As always my teamies have some great inspiration and we
would love for you to join in the challenge.

Winner receives this stamp set....

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV # 47

Our Tutorial Time Challenge is brought to us by our talented Kathy Bradley
It is a Box Card.  Kathy made this fun and quite easy with her great instructions! I
first made a feminine one and after making it is was so fun
I decided to make another one for my grandsons upcoming birthday.
This is so versatile you could use it for a variety of things like
little gifts for a small luncheon or party etc.

The first one I made feminine with the doilies and flower embellies. Instead of a ribbon pull for the drawer  I used a little washer and bead. All the lavender was embossed before attaching. The roses and Happy Thoughts are from the Sending Happy Thoughts Set and the Hummer and Have aWonderful Birthday  is from the Hum Along Set and Happy day is from Cracked Hello Set. The ribbon just wraps around to tie it closed. My niece has a birthday today so this is perfect for her!
The second box  for my grandson who is turning 14 next week. The time has flown by, can
hardly believe it has been that long! He was born
the night before Mothers Day, and what a blessing he was and is to this Ama.
Tiny little peanut when he was born is now as tall as I am..

So anyways tried to do something a little more masculine, dont think he would
appreciate the roses lol!  This one I turned side ways. After putting the box together
I added the striped dp. The stars are cut with a MFT dies.
The Truck and HB sentiment comes from the Big Boy Toys Set.

Using metal for some of the stars which I embossed with the diamond plate folder.
On the inside I used the tire tracs from the same Big Boy Toys Set. The
Celebrate is from the Celebrate Big Set.

The little drawer pulls are screws which I cut down and just
screwed them thru a small hole. Inside is a perfect size for a gift card.
My daughter is getting a gift card for me so he can go do a day of repelling.
I didnt want to use ribbon to tie it shut so I enclosed some string in the package
for my daughter to tie it shut after she puts the gift card in the drawer.

Kathy has really made this very easy with her Great instructions.
Do stop over and give it a try. What a perfect little box to give Moms for
Mothers Day.My teammates also have lots of inspiration for you!!
