FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV # 70

Just have to show you this,,,as I am writing up my post I hear this extremely loud noise.
I have the back door open and my pond is only about 15 ft away.
I know its a toad singing but had no idea we had one or where it
could have come from.I took a flashlight out and this guy is in the shallow
water on the ponds edge singing away. He was just finishing
his song when I snapped the pic, you can still see a little
of his vocal sac

Wow can you believe it is already the end of April...this year is zooming by isn't it!
So are you ready for the new FOSTV Challenge?
This week it is to use tissue paper and there are SO ways to use it.
I've decided to try it on a altered art piece.Starting with and 8x8 canvas
I covered it with tissue paper and mod podge. Next I using  the large
crackle stamp from Cracked Hello Set and the musical sheet from Just A Note Set
to stamp randomly. I also used the Ivy in the corner from the Ivy & Blossom Set.
Next I applied pink, aqua, lavender, green and a printed tissue paper then added some textures
with modeling paste.I also used some glimmer mists.

Using the seed packet from the Seed Packet Set  I added a part of the dogwood from the Dogwood
Blossom Set. After attaching it to the canvas I added a little more tissue to some of the edges.

The Chipboard Heart was covered with pink tissue, embossed and then stamped with
the three love sentiments from the Love Love Love Set. Next the tissue flowers

were made and attached. Lastly I printed out the quote, outlined it and attached. My talented teammates have creations showing you a variety
of ways to used tissue paper, so be sure to stop by our
challenge and check them out!

This is the Stamp Set for this weeks winner.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV # 46

This week seems to have flown by doesn't it!
This week is the Laughlin River Run and we have friends coming in  from Las Vegas.
The whole valley is filled with bikers, its always a fun weekend.
Excited to be meeting up with a few other friends that we dont
get to see to often.

Okay so it is time for our FRIDAY CHALLENGEt
This week it is my turn to do the challenge/tutorial and it is
to make leaves using vellum and chalk.
After making up a pile of leaves I decided to do a tag.
I made the tag base by using a Fleur De Lis Spellbinder corner, also
using it for the bottom. Just cut plenty of layers with some stitching and
embossing from different fall colors to go with my leaves.
Used some modeling paste for the dots. The chipboard key
was heat embossed with some black and gold. A button from the
infamous button box..The acorns are perfect with the fall leaves
and they are from the Autumn Splendor Set. The sentiment is from
the Cracked Hello set. Added to a punched circle.
Hope you will check out the tutorial, the leaves
are fun and easy to make.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV #45

This has been a long week hasn't it!! So many families
affected by tragedy with the bombing in Boston and the explosion
in Texas and a couple more families I know dealing with some
grim diagnoses. Praying for all of these families!

It's Friday and Katie Wenger has challenged us to make a Stand Up Z Fold card.
This was one of those fun quick and easy cards. You can find her tutorial here
and see all the other girls card too.I started with a  teal base and a
dp that  has lots of color and movement in it reminding me of
the beautiful peacock.Actually they are real characters, very noise
and the Best watch "dogs"! I used to have some of these majestic
birds and was could hardly wait to use one of these images.

This is from one the new April  sets  Be A Showoff.
After cutting out the mat with a Spellbinder I stamped three
I colored with some copics then went over part of it with some
Sparkling H2Os for lots of glimmer. If you have seen peacocks you
know that their feathers are vibrant in color have the most
beautiful iridescence's to them while the hens are rather dull in comparison.
.Although my camera didnt capture it
the H2Os really did add a very nice shimmer to the feathers.
After coloring my peacock I cut him out and mounted him with foam dots onto
the stamped and shaded mat.Added MFT looped border and made a little flower
stop with a pinwheel for a center.

.On the top I used a chandelier print and on the bottom
I used the diamond print but added some grey shading to the diamonds.
After stamping I cut the sentiment with a Spellbinder  and added
a couple little jewels.. The black border is also cut from a Spellbinder
.

The ribbon was dyed and twisted to add as a border.
The rest tied into the bow. The rose was made from some
 My Minds Eye dp.

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE # 68

It's tax day, hopefully you already have yours done
.  So are you all ready for a new week?
Monday means its time for a new challenge at FOSTV and this week it to use Vellum.
Vellum is so versatile but I seem to forget all about it.
When my daughter lived in Alaska she took me to a little craft
store and I had bought a folder with 15 different colors of vellum.
You know one of the things you stash and then forget about  lol!!
So I dug it out to use for this challenge.
I started with two different peachy colored papers for my card.

Using the  Black Eyed Susans Mini Stamp Set I off stamped and stamped in a matching color on the paper to created a very pale print for the top
section. Using a coral Bazzill paper I cut out the little border with a SU die
and added the little lace trim.. The corners were also cut with
a little die but I don't know the maker.
The butterfly was cut out of a peach colored vellum using the Spellbinder butterfly die and embossed with a dotted swiss folder.

The rolled rose was cut out of coral vellum using the Spellbinder rolled rose die and green vellum for the leaves. Rolling it wasnt quite as easy as with paper. You really couldnt manipulate it like you can with paper so it is pretty much as it rolled. Added some green vellum leaves.

Using white vellum I cut the little pocket with two different Spellbinder dies.Added some white
dots and a button for some trim.
The tag was cut out,  a couple rows of trim added then stamped with the Black Eyed Susan.
The Thank You stamp is from the  Dogwood Blossoms Stamp Set. A little dyed ribbon
 to finish the tag.

Okay now its time for you all to grab some vellum and show us your creations.

This is the prize for this weeks Winner.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV # 44

Time for another TTSTV Challenge..
Lagene has put together a Great tutorial on making a Double Twisted Easel card.
I have a upcoming luncheon so I used this opportunity to make
a little centerpiece to let the ladies know what the menu will
be. Here in the desert you garden differently, winter is when
you grow  greens, tomatoes etc., since its in the 90s now they are winding down. I am using the last of the garden bounty to prepare for this party. The flowers are all ablaze right now so I will be using them to
decorate. Over the years I have accumulated a LOT of different dishes and
accessories to fit different themes. I like to always have a theme in mind when I entertain
and this is going to be about the ladies and how each of them are special
and unique just like all the flowers!
I thought I would use flowers and fruits to decorate with....

. Using the basic twisted easel to decorate I computer
generated the menu and theme. After embossing the peach I added the green on one
side but it seemed to matchy to do it on both sides so used the doily for the other.
Mounted the theme on the green dp to tie the two sides together. The little
welcome sign is made from the Welcome Poppies Set.
The cherries, strawberries  and fruit bowl are
all from the Celebrate Big Set. The little dotted
border is from the Flap My Wattles Set, and the garden fresh stamped
over it is from the new Seed Packets Set as are the tomatoes.

After coloring all the images  I cut them out and made a
variety of flowers to go with them. The butterflies are from Cherry Lynn
and the peachy border on the bottom is a Spellbinder. I used a bottom for the stops
for each side and added a flower on top of each.
I like how the bold red, soft peach and green compliment one another, also
think the flowers and fruit work together to
make it fun and cheery.

The ladies have a Great variety of cards to inspire you.
With Lagene's tutorial it really is quite easy to make one, so stop over and give
it a try!!

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV CHALLENGE #

Hope you all had a great weekend. FOSTV is back with a new challenge today.
 ALL white is the assignment!
I find it a bit hard using no color how about you?
After using a paisley embossing folder I stitched this layer on.
The next two are Spellbinders Label#    and Label #     .
The sentiment was cut with a Spellbinder Fleur De Lis and
is from the Today Tomorrow & Forever set, how amazing is that lol.
I have an upcoming wedding so I made this with it in mind

Using two different dies to make the flower then added a giant rhinestone for the center. A few MFT flourished to go with the flower and viola it's done.Pretty quick and easy with no coloring or trying to coordinate colors or prints.
Lots of beautiful inspiration from the other gals so stop byand give it a try. We would be thrilled
to have you join in this week.

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV

.You can use any of The Thrifty Stampers tutorials.
I have chosen Makeup Chalk. Yesterday was a long day, one of those
things no one wants to do , attend a Memorial Service
. A friend of ours had a stroke last week and he went home to be with
the Lord on Easter Sunday. He had to be the most generous giving
Christ like man I have ever know!! He constantly gave to those in need,
one time he even gave his new Harley away and for that  God blessed his with another!
Randy didnt know the word can't, his favorite saying no matter
how difficult the job "Piece of cake!!"  He was Operations Manager for the city
and Assistant Pastor of his church. Randy will be Greatly missed by many!!
So I made a couple of cards for his  sweet wife Sheila and family.
I found an eyeshadow that was the perfect shade to match my papers and
used it to highlight the script embossing and around the sentiment. I don't know
the name of this kind of card but the base is flat and the triangular part opens
. Some stitching and a little flower to create a latch for the
 triangle made a simple card.
I used the hummingbird from the Hum Along Set and the sentiment
was from the Island Life Set. All the Stamp Sets and other stamping
supplies can be found at Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.

I made a second card using the new Glad Glads image, stamping it with some
SU ink and mounting to made a focal point. A little punching to made the border
and its done. I did some stamping on the inside but didnt take a pic.

My teammates have all chosen different tutorials. Be sure to stop by....

TUESDAY THROWDOWN TEAM B

Tuesday Throwdown's Team B has a fun challenge this week.
It is a recipe challenge....2 colors plus neutrals, 2 ribbons and 2 things starting with T.
Robyns Fetish is our sponsor and I am using the Chicken n Apple image.
Isn't this a fun image, reminds me of a 50s kitchy look. My mom had a cookie jar
that looked a lot like this chicken when I was a kid. It just begged to be used with
red checks LOL! My second color is the green. After embossing I stitched the
green and checks onto base. Did a little faux stitching on the image.
The black strip was cut with a SU scallop border.
I used the reverse for the little strip to divide
the two colors. The ribbons were tied up with a little twine and a tag and
red pearl added. The little apple strip on the bottom is from and
old apple tea set I have. I thought it went perfect with the image.
So now its your turn to show us what you can
 do with this recipe challenge!

FRIENDS OF SPEEDY TV #66

Good Morning Friends, today's FOSTVchallenge is asking us to make cards based
on a Movie, Book or Song.I did my based on an old book
The Old Man and the Sea by Earnest Hemingway, using the sailboat
image from the Island Life Set. After coloring I cut out in a irregular
shape, it was matted and stitched. I then put it on the bold stripe
with several rounds of stitching. . The webbing is reminiscent of
a fish net tied with a button. A little sentiment completes this simple little card.
My teamies have lots of  Great inspiration.
Think about your favorite and come join us this week.
