Passionately Artistic and Want 2 Scrap are coming together for a 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop. There will be lots of fabulous creations to give you some Christmas gift ideas and much much more. You will need to visit both blogs, join as a follower and leave a daily comment to be in the drawing for one of the $25.00 prizes.
MY project is Christmas cards and a matching gift box. This is one of the cards~~~ For a change I decided to make big ovals with some non traditional colors. I love this beautiful paper covered in lots of pretty ornaments and vintage colors. I thought it would be fun to pair it with the aqua dots. The edges are distressed and then stickles added for some glitz. The center is cut out with a nestie then framed. Used another nestie to cut out the sentiment and stickled. Some hand dyed seam binding made a small bow. I cut slivers for the pine and made a pine cone for the center. Some snow flakes and a fan fold medallion finish the cards. For my gift box I first covered a box I got from work. I used one of the card ovals and decorated it. I used a punch to make a bias to cover the joints on the box. Made a big bow with some pine and pinecones added. Lots of snowflakes, glitter and buttons finish it off. A close up of the fun pinecones and the gift box to hold the cards.
Supplies: Basic Grey Jovial Christmas Tree, Webser's Pages Your Life Beautiful, Bazzill and SU,
Stickles, Holtz antique ink, buttons, hand dyed seam binding, MS loop and artic punches, Spellbinders Label 10. inverted scallop circle and 16.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #27/Embellish it
Good Morning I hope my US friends had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Are you all ready for a new challenge today?? Embellish it is our theme and the skys the limit! To show us your creations be sure to link to Tuesday Throwdown. Don't you love this fun image, just perfect for the Christmas projects!! Surprise Surprise it is called Three Gingerbread Men by Tina Akonom. Okay I know I should have done a gingerbread recipe with the cute gingerbread men BUT my girls loved to make snowflake cookies when they were young so this is it. :)
Our sponsor for this week is The Pixie Cottage. Michelle has rubber and digital stamps plus all the crafting supplies you need for all your creations. Be sure to go to Michelle's Scrapbooking & More to pick up some fun Christmas stamps and more. You will want to stop by to see my teammates great inspirational creations and leave them some love.
I am making paperbag recipes albums for my daughters. Filling them will recipes they grew up with. A fun keepsake plus the recipes in writing. Since embellish was the theme I used lots of snowflakes, button, stitching, layering, embossing and glitter. As you can see from the pic below I paper piece the cute little gingerbread men and the holly. Dimensional paint was used for the white "frosting" and buttons. The Merry Christmas is popped up with foam dots. I printed the recipe, stamped with misc. snowflake stamps and then ran thru the snowflake embossing folder and added the tab with the sewn on button. If you look closely you can see the Merry Christmas, holly berries snowflakes and cup are all glittered.
Supplies: Bazzill, Remembrance and SU papers, CB snowflake embossing folder, MS Snowflake punches, Spellbinders Label #10 , stickles & the good ole button box buttons.
For challenges:
The Pink Elephant: Green red & blue
Crafty Calendar: Snowflakes

Bee Crafty//Something Hidden
Bee Crafty is looking for hidden things. I made placecards for our Thanksgiving dinner with a bit of
a twist. There is a little hidden tag and on the tag is a name. Before dinner we will go around and
tell that person why we are thankful for them. Using the Spellbinder #16 nestie I cut
several sizes for the base, the body, pocket and tag. Distressed the edges and faux stitched them.
Cut a bunch of leaves and a DeeDee's digi turkey. Fun & Simple way to dress up each plate a bit.
This is a view of the back with the pocket and the little tag with
the name of the one we are to share why we are thankful for them
and the attached leaf to pull it out with.
From the front side it just looks like another leaf.

Passionately Artistic
I am very excited to have been invited to be a part of the Passionately Artistic team. For my first post I have made a little Christmasy hot chocolate holder/ ornament. I made a little trifold card and used the scalloped oval nestie to cut the top then distressed all the edges. To add a little pizazz I punched the edge of some red plaid for the inside pocket and used scalloped ovals to mount the gingerbread men on. I cut out several gingerbread men and decorated them with dimensional paint. I used a wheel for the little strip of gingerbread men and watercolored them, stitched onto a piece of recycled paper to form the slide off closure. I am one of pre teens teachers at our Church and I have about 2o-25 kids. Over half of these precious kids live in very disfunctional homes. I am making one for each of them. Its a little fun something I can do that wont be too costly and I'm hopefully they can hang them up and have for Christmas morning.
I used Mona's Cupcakes's Creations Color Inspiration for my project

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE #26/ Button & Bows
At Tuesday Throwdown we want you to get out all your buttons and bows and show them off. Our sponsor is DeeDee's Digis. I just love this new Christmas set, Beauty of the Season. You will have to go take a look. The three small poinsettias are actually a corner that I cut apart. I decided to do a non traditional Christmas color. Actually Purple is such a royal color I think it should be our color for Christmas. After all the whole reason for Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Christ and He is our soon and coming King.
My camera doesn't have enough zoom power so I took a couple closer up pics. I decided I would do a fun gift pocket. I cut two triangle pieces to form the pocket and punched the top. The white was embossed, antiqued with purple chalk and then stitched on the front. Next the Basic Grey print was pleated and stitched on. After I gathered the lace I sandwiched it between back and front and stitched together. I wove ribbon thru my buttons and then attached. I reinforced the holes and attached the white ribbon to hang it by. I cut a couple layers and attached one of the small poinsettias for the tag. The poinsettias were all water colored, glittered and then cut out and layered. Lastly I attached some beads to the bottom.
You can see the flowers are layered and glittered in this photo

Since Thanksgiving is quickly approaching I thought I would get a few cards done for family. I'm usually a more is better person but thought I would give C&S a try. Pixie Cottage Challenge~~~Two Colors
Good Morning I hope your week is going well. The challenge today is 2 colors and I must say it was a real challenge for me. As you may have noticed I'm a color gal so limiting it to two was a stretch :) I debated on several combos and finally settled on the traditional B&W. This beautiful Pixie Cottage flower has lots of pretty detail so thought it was a perfect choice. It is one of those images that is beautiful colored or not. You will find it at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More plus many others. The name is Greetings and it is by our talented ARTish.
I stamped then went over it again with a dark marker so it would stand out. I cut it out and foam dotted it onto the scalloped oval back gound. Next is the oval I cut out with the scalloped nestie and using tiny pieces of foam to lift it up to create a frame for the flower. After I cut out two of the butterfly I ran them thru the dotted folder and then added stickles to the dots and put the layers together. Stitched, layered, punched and added the sentiment. Now be sure to stop by The Pixie Cottage and check out all of the teams beautiful creations!

Today I'm using some seasonal fall colors. Our challenge here at Tuesday Throwdown is to use inchies. Our sponsor this week is Catherine Pooler, a Stampin' Up Demonstrator. She sent each of us a great pkg of goodies to use. Many possibilities with the inchies but I took the easy way out and used it for a background. I cut my white paper into squares and went around each one with chalks. I used the little flower Catherine sent to stamp some of the inches. I then attached them to another sheet of paper and trimmed, stitched around and mounted on the darker base. I used a scalloped nestie to cut out the matching dp and then a smaller white one. I drew the fall wreath and water colored. With Thanksgiving just around the corner I decided used this sentiment. I have a roof over my head and food on the table so I really do have much to be thankful for!
Lastly I stamped and cut out three leaves and an acorn to hang off the hand dyed ribbon. Stop by and join the fun this week. :)

Inky Impressions / Add Flowers
This is one before is was strung on the ribbons.
Last weekend some ladies from the tri state area met for a Prayer Summit. I decorated and made favors. Purple and creme were the primary colors and I made pennants to hang. Just squished some of them together for quick pics before I left. Although you cant really see them you get the idea. They were spaced when they were hung up there. They are scriptures concerning prayer. Edges were distressed, ran thru the dotted folder and stitched. I then added buttons, bows, embossed butterflies and flourishes. There is a close up below.
I made a variety of flowers using dies, punches and just cutting some to nest in the bows and some to sprinkle around.
For each lady I made a bookmark with Psalm 91:1, a goodie bag with some nuts raisins, gum and lipbalm and a little single pennant to hang.
This is a closer look at another one before they were strung on the ribbons.
Fits following Challenges:
Our Daily Bread: Texture, punches & dies
Inky Impressions: Flowers
Delightful Challenges: Stitching
Spoon Full of Sugar:Relish to Embellish

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE
With Thanksgiving just around the corner we want to see a "Giving Thanks" creation at Tuesday Throwdown. Our Sponsor this week is Sweet & Sassy. Don't you love this cute little digital pumpkin image! Be sure to stop by and see all of the great stamps and digis they have. I made my image in a several sizes, water colored them and cut some of them out.I used the great Waltzingmouse Sketch for my card. I cut one of the pumpkin images apart and put it on the tag and added a larger one to the pocket. I did some decorative stitching around the orange print and the faux stitching on the tag and pocket.
Some more stitching and another pocket on the inside. Since Holidays are a special time of getting together for our family we have lots of traditions. On Thanksgiving we all write down what we are thankful for and share that when we get together. I filled my pocket with little tags for everyone to write on. I will send one to each family. Does your family have any traditions for Thanksgiving??
