Friends of Speedy TV

Here we are closing out the year with one last FOSTV Challenge.
Today we are looking for New Years Creations. Usually I think of
New Years cards as mostly B&W but Im doing something
more feminine for a friend. After coloring the Amaryllis image I
cut it out and foam dotted onto the layers.
wonderful stamp sets and supplies for all your stamping needs!
Some stitching a little embossing and a doily cut in half to create a background to show
off the Amarylis. The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinder Label # 20.

A New Year and opportunity for New Beginnings
. What is it you are wanting to change or accomplish this year?
Something to ponder on as we enter 2013!
I want to thank all  my blogging friends for your wonderful encouragement
thru out 2012 and Wishing you a Fabulous New Year!

TTSTV #29

Friday already, seems this week has sped by!! That means it's time for a new

Jane Chambers has a tutorial on a very quick and easy Gift Box. I was able to
visit a little coffee specialty shop while in the city so bought a variety of beans.
I have packed some Vanilla Carmel beans in this little package for  part of a
coffee loving friend's birthday. The new December Oh Beans Set was
perfect for making up this little gift box. All the new sets
We got a peak at the new January and February Sets,
they are Great! Be sure to stay tuned for the reveal!
I stamped up my papers with the block of words and the beans
images and cut out the window with the Spellbinder Star die
Next  put cellophane behind the window, cut out and assembled the box.
Filled with the  yummy  beans and tied closed
with a little bow. The tag was made by using the cup from the same
set and cutting it out.

I love how quick and versatile this
little box was.You really will want to
check it out!

Today we at FOSTV we are challenging you to make something using the
Cracked Glass Technique. Used one of the new images from the Big City
Set. Using some clear embossing power melted with  a heat gun and then
put into the freezer. After you take it out you flex it and it will crakle
. The dp is from Lost & Found. The flourish is MFT with a little
sparkled gear and black jewel. The sentiment is cut out with a
Spellbinder penant. Stop  by to join us this week.

Wishing you all a Very Merry Christmas!

FOSTV Holiday Gifts

Happy Monday Friends, can you believe it is only one week until Christmas Eve!!
Yes, it  is Monday and time for another Friends of Speedy TV Challenge.
This weeks Challenge is Happy Holidays

I need a few small gifts so I spent yesterday baking goodies. I made several
different quick breads and some bars. I also made some Lemon  and Cranberry Curd
to go along with the breads. Its always good to have some yummy curd
to spread on bread for a quick desert or snack.

One of the great new December stamp sets is called Recipe Card Starter. I used two of the
images from this set for the tags on the breads. I love these new images so perfect for
all types of cooking themes. After coloring them they were cut out with a
Spellbinder Label # 17 . Using two white lunch bags I also cut a window out with the
Spellbinder Label #17 and added cellophane over the window.A
perfect quick wrapper for your treats.

To make covers for the jars of curd  I cut out two rounds of white fabric adding som
faux stitching to the edges. Using the Lemon image from Pucker UP set I stamped and
colored it on one circle.

Since there was not a cranberry image I used the Cherry image from
the Celebrate Big set. Masking and not using the stem I used it to
make a cluster of Cranberries.

For each jar of curd I made a tag cut from the Spellbinder Label # 13. Once again
I used the Cherry image to make the Cranberries, colored them and cut them out
to add to the Cranberry Curd tag.

For the Lemon Curd I stamped and colored the
Lemon Slices from the Celebrate Big Set and cut out to
add to the tag cut with the Spellbinder label #13.

All the stamp sets used can be found at
We would love for you to stop by and join our Challenge this week.
The winner will receive this Stamp Set

Christmas Project for FOSTV

This weekend was over in a blink wasn't it?? So that means itt's
Monday and a new Friends of Speedy TV challenge...A Christmas Project or card.
I decorated a vase for my sis who wants to fill it with Christmas greens.
I love this poinsettia image so  have used it again. Coloring and cutting
out and layering for dimension. I have also used the holly image and then added
some punched greens to go with it. A quick way to give the vase
a Christmasy look. AND best of all is I attached it all
with zots so she can easily remove it after Christmas if she wants.

I also needed a card so I made this one using one of the beautiful
Cardinal image. Colored and cut out then attached to
a little embossed square. I made a fishtail banner to go
under it. The Christmas plaid was stitched on to the red and a
red ribbon and bow attached. A little tag with the sentiment
finishes off the card.
All the images can be found here at Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
We also have the new release for December....Each day this week
the team will be featuring one of the sets. You will want to stop by
and see all the new sets, you will love them!

The team has lots of fun ideas for you, check them out and then show us yours.

Celebrate at Tutorial Time

Happy Friday!!  Still no computer so
a bit of a struggle to get this post done but here it is...
Luminaries are a great way to welcome friends and family to your home.I have created a How to Tutorial for three different types. Here in the desert Southwest luminaries are a common sight during the holidays.

The first one is made with a paperbag using the Snowman image from the Holly Jolly Greetings  found at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.White paperbags are pretty sheer and lots of light shows thru.  You can find the tutorial Here with more details for each one.
One thing I want to warn you about, even small breezes can cause paperbags to catch fire. To be safe I now put all my candles in a jar inside the bag to prevent that problem.

The Second one is made from a oatmeal container This one is different as the light does not show thru like the bag. Red felt covers the container for the background and star cut outs allow the light to show thru. The cute little Santa images are also from the Holly Jolly Greetings.

Now I wanted to show you that luminaries are not just for the Christmas Holidays.
I use them year round when I have guests. They are fun because they can be
used with any theme. I like the festive air and how inviting they are.
I love to go and do as much as anyone, But I don't think we really take
time to welcome people to our homes and spend quality time together these days.
I love to entertain and I want people to know when they are invited to my home to
break bread it is a special time.Nothing takes the place of fellowshipping with family
and friends. You know just by just adding a few decorations you can really
make your guests feel special. I  make a theme decorated menu board so the guests
know what they will be eating. I have made luminaries for Thanksgiving,
Christmas, New Years, Fourth of July, Mexican, Italian, Vintage Girly Tea Parties,
Friends night and even for a Garden Luncheon.
This one I created for an Italian Theme.
Given a choice I always buy food in glass containers so I have lots of jars to use.
First you will need to determine the diameter of your jar then you can
make a jacket to fit over it to create the luminaria. As you can see this is a simple use
of the Italian theme. You can  do elaborate or simple but remember if you are using it
at night the little details do not show as well. My cute little Chef comes from the
Celebrate Big Set.

Hope this tutorial will inspire you to make some Luminarias to welcome you next dinner guests!

Lots of Snow....

Our Tuesday Throwdown Challenge is a White Christmas.
This weeks Sponsor is Robyn's Fetish.
Now here in the desert Southwest we do not get snow.
When my SIL was in Iran a few years ago I went to spend
Thanksgiving with my daughter in Alaska.
Living in the desert I have never experienced so much snow ice and cold!
It was 10 degrees the first day and then plummeted to 40 degrees below zero
a few days later. I was struck how in nature there is very little
color just white with shades of greyish blue in sky, ground and all foliage.
The dp I used was a grey blue with snowflakes on it.
Using some paints I added the greyish trees and white snow.
The base is torn strips run thru the dotted swiss folder and
all is stitched around. I wanted the sweet little Rudolph
to pop with all his bright color against the background.
Very simple but I like the way it looks cold and wintery.

A Little Christmas Decor

My computer isnt fixed but I have a temporary loan.
Hard to believe December is already  here isnt't it!
Got out the lights but didn't have time to hang them this weekend.
Right now the weather in the desert is absolutely beautiful!
I do not want to go to work I want to be out riding and gardening. Thought I would
share a pic of my pretty peach colored hibiscus blooming right now.

Better get to our new challenge... Friends of Speedy TV is challenging
you to make a Christmas Card or project. Who doesn't need some
of those right now? I needed a little something Christmas to put in
my bathroom. It is vintage all in off whites and creams, needs some Christmas color.

Did a little digging  in my craft bins and found these little wooden candle holders.
I painted them  burgundy, then used some crackle medium followed
with a coat of cream paint. Used the poinsettia and holly images to create
some simple embellies for them. After stamping several of each I colored
them and cut them all out. The poinsettias are layered and formed
a little then attached onto the holder along with a little sheer ribbon.

A quick and easy project to give a little pop of color.
Be sure to stop by and see all the Great creations my
talented teammates have to inspire you to join us.

The winner will take home this set....

Friends of Speedy TV

Isn't this year speeding by Thanksgiving in just a few days and that is
my birthday too so Im going to have a Great birthday dinner!
Our FOSTVchallenge this week is a Thanksgiving card. I have used
the pumpkin, leaf and acorn images from the Autumn Splendor set.
My computer is toast so Im having to go to my sisters or use
works which they don't really like me to do.After coloring the pumpkins
I attached them to the brown and stitched on. The checked is really
a very rich brown check Lost & Found print. The orange was embossed
and sanded. The acorns were stamped in brown and lastly a ribbon
and bow added. The leaves were used on the inside but I didnt take
a pic. I cant access my photo program so hard to get good pics.
For those of you in the U.S. celebrating Thanksgiving, wishing you
a wonderful day pondering on all the things we
have to be thankful for.            Blessings

CR84FN67

CR84FN67 has a lovely color combo
Plum and gold such a royal color combo....
. The gold is pretty shimmery
here is a close up to see it a little better.I made these tags
last Sunday but
because of continuing computer issues I couldnt post until I went to my sisters today.
I used tan paper and sponged on gold and purple for the base
The  first fish tails were stitched on and the second fish tails
were embossed and edged with gold stickles.
The Spellbinder pearl circles were punched with a little star punch.
The poinsettias were heat embossed and popped up.
The sentiment was also edged with gold and the ribbons
dyed to match and tied on.

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

It has been one of those*~#^+%;> weeks!!
Sorry my post is up late but couldnt get my pics to load last night and has
taken two hours this am...NOTHING is working!! About ready to take
a sledge to this computer!! The challenge  is to use
Perfect Pearls with different techniques. Painting with them, making rain
drops and using as decorating pearls.
You will find the tutorial for them here.
Truthfully I only had one bottle of Perfect Pearls but I did
have a couple bottles of irredecent paint which worked
the same. I watered down the paint and used it to paint
bird and dotted each section on the embossing.

I used the pearls on the water and to make the
rain drops on this one

This one just used the pearls as a embellie.
I have made a little note card using each technique.
Using the different images from the  Tweet That set.

Friends of Speedy TV Challenge

Are you ready to start the new week? FOSTV have a  fun new challenge for you today.
We want to see your Scrapbook Pages.

My granddaughter Skylar's dad was gone for training for 6 weeks
and when he got home last Saturday they went to the park so my daughter
sent me lots of pics, perfect timing too! For my LO I used a couple
of the pics of her and  I thought  the Sunflowers from the
fun image. After coloring and cutting lots of them into pieces I layered them
to give them more dimension, then added glitter to the bees wings

. The border was made
by tearing and rolling strips
. Using some modeling paste and acrylics I added
a little more color and texture to the corners. The butterfly on the to
corner was cut out of vellum.

Raffia always comes to mind with sunflowers so I wove some
around the oval and tied the bow. The fence was made by running some
brown thru a woodgrain texture folder and then cut in strips and
glued together. Just added my little princesses name and mine is
complete. Now pop over and join our Challenge with your LO.

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

YES, I finally got my computer back up and its running this morning.
Some major hair pulling as they removed 3 years worth
of saved favorites, and a few of my programs
but I will prevail and be back to
visiting you all by tomorrow :)

Onto this weeks Tutorial Time Challenge  its quite fun...using bubble wrap.
Using some lavender, blue and touch of green paint I did the
background and let it dry. Once it was dry I dabbed the
bubble wrap in white and rolled it randomly
over my background.
I stitched  this onto some lavender, it really does
match in  person but you sure couldnt prove it by this pic!
I like the cold snowy look, so of course had
to use our sweet snowmen image from the Holly Jolly Greetings set.
Be sue to check out all the sets at Marks Finest Papers
a Heinrich Co. You will certainly want to check out
new ones coming soon!!
After coloring my snowman I cut him out.The snowflake is two layers
of vellum attached to the button. I dyed my ribbon in lavender and blues
to match the bg and tied a simple bow
popped on the little snowman. Voila a fun and pretty quick card.
Be sure to pop over to join us...Debbie has some really
GREAT tips for using this technique.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Are you all ready for the new Tuesday Throwdown Challenge??

Our sponsor for the week is Robyn's Fetish and our theme is Autumn Leaves.
The Apple Cider image was perfect for the invitations to my upcoming party.
After printing I water colored my image and attached to the sanded
coredination base. The Lost & Found dp was stitched on and the
orange border was punched with a MS punch, sorry do not know
the name. I made my leaves with kraft paper, wet, scrunched
 and colored with stains.

For the inside I used a row of miniature images
attached to the dp and stitched on. The invite was cut out with a
Spellbinder Fancy Label and attached to the
embossed and stitched on base.
More leaves added to finish up the fall theme!
My talented team mates all have some Great inspiration so stop over and join in the fall fun.

Friends of Speedy TV #45

Good Morning Friends, hope you had a great weekend!
Still no computer but hoping it will be fixed by tomorrow so I can come visit you all.
It not easy to go to my sisters as I have to work around my work schedule and
do it when its convenient for her and her family.

Our FOSTV has an easy challenge this week....Anything Goes.
I am making settings for our Thanksgiving Dinner. I started
using the leaves and pumpkin from
the Autumn Splendor set for the napkin, napkin holder and the
silverware holder. This set is found at Marks Finest Paper a Heinrich Co.
You will find they also are able to fill all your stamping needs
with their wonderful variety of products.

I go with Dr. to one of our satellite offices on Wednesdays.
A couple weeks ago the office was purging old charts and I got several hundred
manilla folders. These were the perfect  thing to use for these
sets since I have to make 22 of them.
After cutting the scalloped edge and top I stitched around them then made
the sleeve from the checks to go around it. The pumpkins
and leaves were water colored. After cutting out the leaves I wrapped raffia
around the little turn down and then attached
the leaves. The napkin ring started with a paper towel roll cut
in 1 1/2 strips then the scalloped piece wrapped around.

One of the leaf image and raffia decorating it. I stamped the napkin
with Staz On and used fabric paints on the leave, stitching
around each one and there you are a fun little set
to spiff up the table a bit.

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV #22

Happy Friday, love those weekends!!
Our challenge at Tutorial Time this week is a Tri Fold Card.

Lois has given us a great how to tutorial! It was still a bit of a
challenge for me as my cutter is just a chopper so I had to hand cut
all the inside pieces with a razor knife
I used one of our beautiful
 new sets,  Poinsettia Blooms.

I colored 2 poinsettias cut them out and layered.
 Be sure to check out
Marks Finest Paper a Heinrich Co. for this set and for all your

paper crafting needs.   After cutting the card base I cut the
cream and two dps to mat each section. The images were colored
with water colors and copics some greens cut to go around the big
 poinsettia and its done.

The card folds up to fit nicely in an envelope

A little time consuming but what a cool
card when they are finished! Be sure to give this
one a whirl and join the challenge.
You open the card and it free stands because of the folds.

My computer is still down so Im at my sweet sisters using her
computer so unable do to much.
You can find the free set at the Challenge site.
