Tutorial Time with Speedy TV #13

This week Lois Bak made a tutorial for a criss cross card.
You can find her detailed tutorial Here.
LOTS of pics today...enjoy
My criss cross card is actually a pocket to hold 4 recipe
cards. I love love to cook and am always game for trying
out new recipes. I like to make fun recipe cards
for gifts. For this project I have used the
fabulous new Hot & Spicy Set, perfect for my recipe
cards. I  colored and cut out lots of the chili images, and
the sentiment for the belly band.
Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.has a
wonderful selection of stamp sets and New Releases
each month. You are sure to find a set for every need!
Chilies and Spicy food is native here in the Southwest
and my personal favorite to cook and eat!
I made my criss cross card according to Lois's
directions. Adding a piece of  Southwest
cooking dp to the front. My sewing machine is
making me crazy,,,stitching all messed up so had
to do faux stitching on the project. The little
belly band holds it together.
As you can see I used different Spellbinder dies
to cut out the recipes, for the belly band and
a couple to make the tabs. Do you like Salsa?
I can eat bowls of it!  Lately the trend is to make
Salsas with fruits other than tomatoes. I have made some
recipe cards with a few of my favs.

I think you can see the recipes well enough to give
them a try, the peach is really delightful These recipes
are mild for those who don't want much heat but  if
you like it really spicy you can
amp it up with more chiles...

These recipes are fun because you can
change them up a bit by adding other fruits and you
can use them on meats, rice, tortillas, breads,
fruits, even cheesecake.

I should have colored some of the chilies yellow
and orange but don't you think they were the perfect
embellies for these recipe cards?

The criss cross pocket with recipes
will go into one of the  recipe books
I am making for my girls.

This weeks winner will take home
this lovely stamp set!
