Can you believe this is the last day of August? Wow this year is zooming
by isn't it! Two posts today~~~

First Post is The Pixie Cottage Back to School and /or the Sketch
Many of The Pixie Cottage Stamps & digis are able to be combined with others.
I used the digi A Place to Sit by Artish. You can find images, copics, papers and
much much more at Michelle's Scrapbooking & More!

Water colored the bench and my little Tilda, adding stickles to the metal
parts on the bench and partially cut it out. Drew and cut out some books, the
apple and a few for a simple Back to School card.

I layered the green and print stitching them together then punched the
edges with a MS dotted scallop. Cut out the cardboard A, punched the
sentiment and attached with a brad and added the buttons.

Supplies used: Bazzil & DCVW papers, water colors,
stickles, misc buttons & brad cardboard, A MS
punch and a Marvy tag punch

so be sure to stop by and join the Party.
My card for today is simple with no image just a sentiment. It is for
one of my husbands friends so didn't want it to be to girly.

Started with a paisley print and matted on a dark burgandy to
match the dp.

I stamped the sentiment then embossed and used chalks to add a little
color to match the dp. Using a old SU paisley image
I stamped a strip in brown and then added a couple
layers of narrow strips to each side. A little
bow and button completed the card.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Hope you all are well, here in the desert we have been having some Extremely hot
weather but by Thursday we are supposed to be under 113 Yipeee! Well anyways onto
the challenge. This week at Tuesday Throwdown we have a very fun challenge,
it is....Punny Sentiments. It has some very funny possibilities :)

When I saw the image choices I knew what I would do.
One day when Dr. was a little grumpy his granddaughter said to her Gramma
well he's a crabby cake today. It has become a office joke, so now we tease Dr,
OH crabby cakes needs some chocolate. S000 I just had to use that crab :)

I water colored the crab and added some beach sand around him
then matted on the pale blue.
The dp had lots of swirls in it so reminded me of water.
The fish net was made from some recycled netting from a veggie bag.

The shells were stamped with versamark and embossed with several
colors, cut out and foam dotted on. The top shells are some small
ones my grandson and I picked up while I was visiting them.
Be sure to stop by to see the teams fun cards ...you will
get a good chuckle!

Heart Song Inspiration Challenge and you can choose from
Anything Goes
and /or your favorite color combo. Our talented
team has
lots of inspiration to inspire you.

I love this image and dp, they reminded me of a retro 50's kitchen
The Cherry Frame was water colored and cut out. The
center was cut out and distressed. The sentiment stamped
distressed and set behind the cut out with
a little cherry added .

Cut out a mat with Spellbinder scalloped circle. I love
all the vintage Graphic 45 dps and I thought the cherry print was perfect
with my image so stiched around it.

The Pixie Cottage Challenge & Passionately Artistic Challenge

Wednesday brings two challenges and it makes it much easier to do them
all in one so please patiently scroll a bit to get to the bottom...
Hope you all are staying cool. Here in the desert we are having
some really hot days. It was 117 degrees today
and supposed to be hotter tomorrow!

The first Challenge is at The Pixie Cottage.
As always we have a theme and sketch. You can choose one or
both. I used the theme
Summer Nights. MY brother has
a birthday on the first

so this man card is for him.
He just retired and now will have
the time to do the things he likes. One of those things is
fishing a
nd here in the desert it is way to hot to go in the
day so night fishin
g is pretty popular in the summer.

My image is called Gone Fishing, it was water colored and cut out
with a Spellbinder label #1 and matted on the green. Used the same
Spellbinder to cut out the fish dp. A little meandering stitching round
and round in brown just for a little interest. The card is tied
together at the top with the ribbon. I cut out a couple fish, shaped them
a bit and foam dotted on along with the sentiment.

Supplies used: SU and DC papers, SU scalloped
punch, Spellbinder Label #1 Pixie Cottage image,
Offray ribbon,foam dots water colors,
and Misc button.

The second Challenge is at Passionately Artistic and our theme is
Anything Goes. Some great prizes so be sure to stop by and link up to
the party. My card is using an old image from a stamp that doesn't
have the name or make on it.

I used water colors and some copics to color this image then
cut it out. Added some stickles around the frame and to the
roses. I stamped the scriptureand inserted in the cut out center. Matted the image onto the beaded
circle and attached that to the base embossed base.
There it is a small simple card.

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Be sure to stop by Tuesday Throwdown and see the teams wonderful creations!

The challenge today is Texture and Dimension. We had a choice of several
images from our sponsor My Grafico. Our images are all from the
Pretty Primitive Set and I chose Strawberry Jam. The image is water colored
and then I drew and colored another strawberry to pop up for added
dimension then cut the imagewith a Spellbinder label 21.

Very frustrated because my camera cannot zoom close enough to really see
the details so I've included several pic so you might be able to get a better
idea of what the card looks like. It has lots of texture and dimension
in person.I cut four squares of the dp and embossed with the dotted swiss
folder then stitched onto the background.
The edges of the image were distressed, a little faux stitching and then
foam dotted on. The red edge was punched with a MS checkerboard
and attached to the underneath piece.
I used a SU scalloped punch for the sentiment and then attached to the red
cut with a Spellbinder scalloped oval and foam dotted on. A little bow and
button finished it off. I made three strawberry boxes and embossed them
to go with the card. Stuffed a few little chocolate kisses in them.
Tomorrow is my Sweet Mama's Birthday and this is for her, an
amazing lady~~~ 83 years old!

So onto this weeks challenge at Heart Song Inspiration. Its your choice~~
Shabby Chic and/or pearls.
We would love for you to stop by and join us.
I'm using the Pansy Frame image. Being a flower lover this one is one of my favs!

It was water colored and cut out. I then stamped the sentiment and distressed around it.
Used gold stickles on the flower edges. The background was punched down each
side with a MS arch then embossed. I gathered some crepe paper for two rows of
ruffles at the bottom then stitched a strip of the stiped print over the edge.

I distressed a piece of the striped dp to mount the image onto. It was all foam dotted on.
The bow was made from hand dyed ribbon and attached. Lastly put the pearls on.

a Spellbinder die. I wanted to do the stitching in hot pink but of course wouldn't
you know I didn't have any. I live in a rural area and have to drive 30 minutes
to get things like thread so that wasn't happening!

sentiment was punched and hung with a the bow. Lastly the flower was

TUESDAY THROWDOWN CHALLENGE

Are you ready for a new Tuesday Throwdown? Our challenge is a bit different today,
NO stamped sentiment. You can use a handwritten, stencil, rub on etc.
Our sponsor for today is Mc Mahon Five Designs. Be sure to stop by and check
out their Great selection of images! I started sewing when I was 8 and love
old dressmaker forms and sewing notions, etc. I chose this lovely image called
dressed dummy. Don't you just love it?

I decided to make it a little funky so I used this piece of Webster paper. I love
the color of the checks with the fun cherries, so I stitched it on the cream base.
Next I water colored the dress an aqua color and added
the red stickles to the bows and a little red jewel for the necklace. After I cut it
out I added the faux stitching and foam dotted on.

Next cut the little aqua border and added the scrim which was dyed, gathered
and stitched on. Added the ribbon and bow. I had this fun little mirror so added
the red stickles to it and put in the center of the bow. Also used silver stickles
for the metal stand. I computer generated a sentiment and
punched out with the oval.
Supplies used:
Webster pages & SU papers, stickles,
dyed seam binding, misc jewel, mirror & foam dots,
Spellbinder Label #20 and SU oval punch.

PIXIE COTTAGE CHALLENGE & PASSIONATELY ARTISTIC

My first post is for The Pixie Cottage. As usual you can choose to use the theme and/or the sketch. The theme is my very favorite FLOWERS! I started with a pretty piece of My
Minds Eye dp and decided to go with coral and black. Stitched the dp to the black and coral.
My chic little image is one of the South End Girls Collection found at
Michelle's Scrapbooking and More.

She is water colored, cut out with a Spellbinder label and foam dotted on. I made a couple flowers from some scrim and dyed them the cor
al color. While digging in one of my button
boxes I found these lovely taupe pearl buttons to match the dp for centers.

Cut and distressed a
few leaves to go with the flowers. The ribbon was dyed with some tea and made into
a scrunchy bow. Stickles
were used
to cover the chipboard flourish. I double punched
the black flower border and added coral centers. After I punched the bottom border I
