Tutorial Time wih Speedy TV #21

For our Tutorial Time Challenge we have a fun one...faux brick
Pat Garvin has a GREAT Tutorial with all the how to instructions Here.

After making several sheets of different colored brick I decided
to use the red ones for a chimney. Cut out the chimney and then
cut and small strip to create the top layer on the chimney.
 Using a Spellbinder scalloped
border I made layers for the roof of the house, adding windows
 before adding the chimney.
The Santa popping out of the chimney is
from one of the new Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.sets,
I colored Santa with copics and added dimensional paint
for his beard, mustache and the fur on hat and sleeves.
Using a 1" punch I attached the Ho Ho Ho's to make it a little
more fun. Stop over and see my teammates inspirational projects,
they have lots of different ideas.

Hope you all had a great weekend. For our FOSTV Challenge you
have a choice of  Halloween or Fall Harvest. I don't do
Halloween so Im making a fall themed card using the
pumpkin and acorn from the Autumn Splendor set.
After coloring the images I cut the pumpkin with a
Spellbinder Floral Oval then cut out the acorn
and added.
After embossing the paper I
 used several different inks
to color it up a bit. The fishtail flags seem to be
all the rage now so using some webbed ribbon I cut one to
go behind the image. All was stitched onto the base card.

Be sure to join in the challenge and you will have a chance
to win the this lovely set.

Our FOSTV Challenge is to alter an item.
My husband eats oatmeal every morning year round so I have plenty of
large containers! I thought they would make cute luminaires.
Its surprising how much light a med size candle will make

First I foil lined the inside of the container to make
it more fire resistant, then covered with dp.
I have used the snowman from the Holly Jolly Greeting set
from Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.
Tearing strips of white paper, adding in layers to make
the snow and adding lots of chunky glitter.
Here is a close up of the snowmen, they are so cute!
Using a soda pop can I cut out stars using the
Spellbinder star dies. I then cut star shapes out  of the container and
added the  metal star borders to cover the edges. Lastly using a
little hand punch I punched out the
tiny stars around the top. The snowflakes are cut using a MS punch
with a little glitter added to the centers.
Now be sure to look around

Winner will receive this  Set.

selection of stamp sets, papers and other stamping embellies.
After stamping them I colored with with a combo of copics
and water colors and cut to size then matted.

Friends of Speedy TV

Happy Monday you all.
I thought I would share a pic of a dragonfly. Friday evening
I went outside shortly after sundown and saw this dragonfly.
The light was low so couldnt get it any clearer.
It landed on a rusty hanger and I thought it
was interesting that its colors were the same.

So simple, it is using Chipboard. I have used one of

Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co's new sets. Buried Treasures
has a great variety of sentiments and fun images. After
water coloring the images I cut out the parrot with
a Spellbinder Label# 8 and did some rough
shading around it. The map was cut out and
 darkened all around the edges.

I thought these were the perfect dps for this project. It is
from Lost & Found which I won at CR84FN Color Challenge.
I painted my chipboard hinges and skull & crossbone  pieces
from Tim Holtz. Thought the skull needed a little skullcap
made from fabric. The dps were stitched on and the card
front cut short to reveal part of the inside. The sentiment
was stamped, cut apart and  added.

On the inside I added the map and an old key.
This cute little pirate set it has lots of
possibilities and my message in this card is that
each of us has a treasure with in!
It is up to us to discover and develop that!

Winner will receive this Stamp Set
