Tuesday Throwdown

Here at Tuesday Throwdown we are excited about some
changes that will taking place. Be sure to stop by next week
to get the scoop!

For this week we are looking for some doodling on your
project. I took the opportunity to make the cover page
for a new album I'm making for a friend from church.
Starting with a blank page  I spritzed and smeared some
springy colors around. Next started the doodling with some
fun flowers, a cheery sun and some fun dots. Then
added some more color to them. Stamped a
couple dragonflies and  added a big
lavender flower for some fun. I outlined around
the words a couple times and matted them.
onto the lavender. Some doodling print to elaborate on
the words. A little dimension paint on the sun and the dots.

I drew my girl onto a page of
vintage print. My friend is Latino and she is beautiful,
feminine and has the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen,
enough for at least four people and her favorite color is
purple. The girl I drew has a mop of hair like Monica and
dressed in her favorite color.  Her infectious laughter and
constant encouraging words are a real blessing to everyone
around her so I think this cover reflects her personality.
I have lots more pages to do. Maybe I will share them
with you when I have finished.
Sherrod Studios is our Sponsor this week so be sure to join us,
you may be the winner of the $25.00 gift cert.

Happy Monday...Time for a new challenge at FOSTV.

This weeks we are to use die cuts. I love using dies
so this was right up my alley! Do you have those pieces
of paper in your stash you are holding onto with a power
grip LOL. Well I told my self I must break loose with them,
so used a piece of Pink Paislee, Webster Pages and a
piece of  peachy SU solid. I cut a five inch strip and folded
like a tent card so I could put some of the soaps  I had
made inside. The flap was cut with a Spellbinder label # 4.
I cut the sentiment out with a Spellbinder Fancy Tag and
the attached to the top flap. Both the butterflies are
Cherry Lynn dies. Isn't this dogwood image beautiful,
you can find this one along with all your other paper
I stamped it twice and water colored
both them cutting one out, adding the pieces to other image
to create some extra dimension. The image was cut with
the Spellbinder Scalloped Oval. Using the Spellbinder
Floral Ovals I cut out the striped dp and added the image
to it. The edging is cut from a Paper Trey Ink Fillegree die
Inside I punched a couple holes to pull the hand dyed
ribbon thru to tie on the bag of soaps. The sentiment is cut
 with a Spellbinder Pennant Die.
Stop by to see all of my talented teammates
wonderful designs.
One lucky winner will receive this set

Entering Challenges:

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

This week our challenge is a Tent Topper Card.
If you have never made one Pam put together a great tutorial
Here. I was going for a rather C&S man card. My image is from
the Big Boys Toys set. I love this old truck, it reminds me
of one my grampa had! Is it not the coolest~   The scene was
water colored and cut it out then matted and stitched onto
the yellow. Using kraft card stock I cut out a piece with the
Spellbinder Label #2 and added a piece of the Websters
striped dp then stitched around it. Some more striped dp,
some stitching and a little twine tied with the fun yellow
button completes my card. Hope you will stop by to see all
the fun tent topper cards my teammates made!

This is the prize for this weeks winner....stop on by!

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

Our Challenge for today is Tropical Paradise.
It's certainly not tropical here in the desert but the
Colorado River runs thru here and when summer hits it
is the place to be. Flip flops are the perfect shoe for the
beach so I chose to use the Summer Time
Sandals image. All our images come from our sponsor
Meljen's Designs. After water coloring my image I
cut it with a Spellbinder Label #  I stitched some dp
onto a pink Bazzill paper then added the image. Made
some flowers to go with the fun flip flops. My teammates
have some very fun cards for you today so stop by
 and visit them.

by Kathy Bradley. You can find her tutorial right HERE.
My cherry blossom image is from the new Asian Delights Set

and check them out.
My card is made from a grey print stitched on black and the
edges distressed. After stamping my image and cutting it out
with the Spellbinder Scalloped rectangle I stamped a second
image. After punching it out with a 1" circle I  water colored
and mounted the spot lighted flower on a black circle.

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge

It's time for a new challenge and Tuesday Throwdown.
We are looking for a clear element in your creation.

Our sponsor is Inked Treasures and Ashley have given us
some fun images to work with. After water coloring my Fun
In The Sun Ellie image I cut it out with the Spellbinder
looped square. I cut another looped square and then
cut the center out of it to create a frame to put my clear
acetate on then popped up with foam
dots to create a dimensional frame for my image. I actually
stitched my image onto the plaid but the frame covers it up. After
stitching the two layers on I added some buttons for a little fun.
A sentiment finishes it off. My talented team mates have lots of
fun inspiration for you so be sure to stop by and visit them.

Tuesday Throwdown

Friends of Speedy Tv Challenge # 29

Looking forward to a good week, how about you??
Our new challenge this week at FOSTV is a sketch.
I don't usually do Asian but one of the new releases for
July is a Beautiful Asian Delights Set. I have used one of the
single images of a lovely geisha doing a little water
 coloring and matting her.

I found some SU Cherry Cobbler
paper perfect for the mat cut with a Spellbinder Fleur De Lis
. I had this ribbon with an Asian flavor so that is what I used for
my color inspiration. The Bg paper was created with
some alcohol inks and stitched on.The Chinese symbols were
stamped in a row to created one side of the strip and for
the center circle. I used the Spellbinder Scalloped circle,
Reverse Scalloped Circle and the Beaded Circle I chose to
add the HB sentiment to the inside of the card since there
was plenty going on on the front already.
to see the Asian set and the other new releases for this month.

Here is the Sketch to use  if you would like to join us.

If you come join us you could be the winner of this lovely set
We do not often get rain here in the desert but boy we did get a
humdinger  Saturday evening and night so I thought I would
share a couple pics. Looked like we were going
to float away  there for a bit lol!  I snapped a couple pics between
rounds. This is the mountains directly behind my house after
the first round passed thru.
This one is the second round coming in. It is raining so hard
you can barely see the mountains. Many times in the desert it
comes fast and furious instead of softly,
filling all the washes and roads with turbulent
waters, but never the less a blessing for such dry land.

Wohoo it is Friday!! Are you as happy as I am
that this week is over???
It is my turn to do the tutorial. My choice was how
 to do cracked glass.

technique you can find the whole  tutorial Here After
stamping my lemon image and coloring it I  heat embossed
and cracked it. Added some stitching
and embossing of the My Minds Eye dp.
The layers were punched with a MS dotted scallop.
Some hand dyed ribbon to finish it off. My lemon
image from the Pucker Up set and sentiment from
the Dogwood Blossoms , they can be found here at

Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps a Heinrich Co.

is having a heat wave. We all met at my sisters house from
the 4th till Sunday. It was so cool and green, just wonderful!
Would have loved to stay for the summer.

base and  stitched on the dotted dp. Used the Spellbinder
Labels 21 & 18 for the red and print. The sentiment
was cut with the Spellbinders scalloped circle.

A little rolled rose and hand dyed ribbon tied with

Its time for a new challenge here at FOSTV. The theme is
vacation. One of my favorite vacations was a trip my mom,
sis and I took to the New England states. Light houses are
so stately and have so much history to tell I love to visit them.
We went to the Portland Head
and several others so my card is sorta remenicent of that
vacation. The image and sentiment is from the Island Life set
. After water coloring the image was attached to the stripe
and blue. The little pennants were attached with the string.
Stop by to see the very fun creations of my teammates. Also
wanted to say sorry I havent been around to visit all your
wonderful blogs. I have been gone off and on and had
lots and lots of  crazy obligations. I will be back on

Tuesday Throwdown

Happy Tuesday to you all. Our new challenge is Anything Goes and our sponsor is Robyn's Fetish. I used the Shell 4 Sale image. After some water coloring the image was cut out with the Spellbinder romantic rectangle, layered on the stripe with another rectangle rectangle then a stitched on stripe. Cant be on the beach with out a sun right, so I drew and cut out a fun cheery one. The sentiment was mounted on the punched blue with a little shell.

This week our theme at FOSTV is Red White&Blue.
Digging in my stash I found a pretty piece of  RW&B
print which I stitched onto a piece of blue gingham and
then onto the white. They were all cut with the Spellbinder
label # 1. My image is  from the Black Eyed Susan mini set.
After water coloring I cut out leaving a white border to help
it show up a little better and foam dotted on. I cut a tab
and stitched it together and then attached to front and back
of the cards in the corner. A little lace, hand dyed ribbon
bow was tied with the little red button.
