Friends of Speedy TV

Hope you all had a great weekend. We had a rainy one but  thats a good
thing here in the dry desert. My garden was delighted with the nonalkaline rain water.
These little nasturtiams survived the frost and had these 2 cheery flowers to brighten the dreary day.

Our new challenge for FOSTV is New Home.
I have used one of Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.images from the On The Fly set.
During the hot summer months I would like to live here.

 After coloring the image
I matted it twice and added photo corners. The base was embossed with a SU
stripe and a piece of dp stitched on. The string is tied with a wooden button.
Lots of fun inspiration with all my teammates! Come on over and join us,,,,,

The winner will receive this stamp set....

TUTORIAL TIME WITH SPEEDY TV

Are you thinking what I am TGIF!! I have had a terrible cold, the head feeling
like a beating drum, elephant on the chest, coughing like a fool, you know the
whole drill, but short staffed at work so had to go. Okay enough whining,
I had started a little album thinking that our crayon resist technique would be fun
with doodling and perfect for the album but I tell you my creative cap
has short circuted and not enough umph with this miserable germ
so alternate plan was a fast card!!
I did the crayon resist on the backgrounds and used Tim Holtz ink. A little
stitching and tied the little banners with a button for quick embellies.
The image and sentiment are from one of the new January releases
from Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. called Fantastic Dogs.
The sentiment was soooo appropriate for how I felt this week that
I was compelled to use it lol!! Lots of creative license
with this challenge so come over and join us
.

Tuesday Throwdown

I forgot yesterday I was going to show these pics I took last week.
Here in the desert we don't get  much frost but last week temps dipped
into the 20s which is very cold here. A hose drips into the
birdbath all the time as the temps dipped it all froze!! The good
news is it will  be in the 70's this week!

Are you ready for the new Challenge? Today at TT team B
is challenging you to used  Furry Friends. Our Sponsor is Meljen's Designs

.

 They have a huge
variety so stop over to visit their store.
We have added several new talented ladies to our teams
so you will want to come meet them and see their fab cards!
Asha, Joyce,Julie & Sally will be joining  Team B today.
I am using an image called  Cuddle Bun Soup. I colored and cut this cutie
out with a Scalloped Circle Spellbinder.

Using a variety of Lost & Found dp I stitched two on for the background
and then cut several sizes of hearts out. After distressing and stitching I
attached the image to the mat. I recycled a little piece of felt ribbon
that matched the print and  foam dotted on the image.
The hearts were layered and a few buttons added.
This little image seemed perfect for a little homespun
look don't you think?  If you come join in the challenge
you will have the opportunity to win some Meljens Design image.
The rest of my talented teammates have some super
designs for  you to check out.

Im entering this into

Friends of Speedy TV

Good Morning Friends, A new week and a fresh start!
This weeks Challenge at FOSTV is creative uses of ribbon.

After trying several things and not liking any of them I made a little
knotted  and twisted strand  to go across the top, then decided I would make grapes.
After dying some light and dark purple ribbon and crinkling it I knotted
each piece and wrapped around several times for each grape then
added the grape leaves. My husband says they look like little flowers so you
might have to use a little imagination to see a cluster of grapes!

Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. has five new sets released for this month
and I'm loving these new ones and I am  excited about the upcoming
ones for February. My image is from the No Sour Grapes set. After
coloring my image I used some glossy
effects on my wine glass. I enlarged the image hoping you could
see but doesnt seem to show up.

A Spellbinder Label #   and doily to help show it off a bit.
After embossing and cutting the top and adding the ribbon I punched
a sentiment with an oval punch and added the brad.
My teammates have lots of fun ideas for ribbon so
be sure to stop by and see what
they have for you.
We would love to see your ideas for ribbon, so stop over and join us.

Tutorial Time with Speedy TV

Surely you can hearing me shouting for joy....I have a computer again!
No more running here and there trying to use other peoples like I have been for the
last two months!! Thanks to my sweet friend Martha and husband Bill for
the new hard drive and for my husbands friend Guy for doing all the  work, installing,
driving the 30 miles to bring it to me tonight showing my how to use
all the new stuff etc. What a blessing!!

Anyways onto this weeks Challenge at TTSTV. Something I've never done before.
Packing tape transfers. Debbie put together a great tutorial on how to do this
technique. I didnt have access to a laser printer to copy an image so I used one from a
Birds and Blooms magazine,  the brightly colored Western Tangar. After following
the directions and getting my image onto the tape I applied it to the cardstock and then
attached to the yellow background. Such a pretty picture, I made a stab at a C&S card.
Not real pleased but at least you do see the pretty bird as the focal and using the
sentiment from what else but the Sending Happy Thoughts Set.

This really is a pretty cool technique. The team has
shown how versatile this technique is with a great variety of wonderful cards.
Sure hope you will give it a try.
Enjoy your weekend....

Friends of Speedy TV

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Today  FOSTV we are challenging you to use something recycled on your project.
For mine I used and old piece of tissue that I had saved. It was a
yellowish color so I used some inks to darken it then applied to a
piece of card stalk leaving the wrinkles, going for
an old leather look with it.
One of our new January releases
is this great In My Den set, perfect for a man card. I love
all the cool images in the new set. Isn't this clock great!
I stamped colored and cut out the clock. I used some glossy accents
for the glass, and  in real life  it look just like glass...
I stamped the chairs on a couple of  Lost & Found dps then
added the legs. The sentiment is also from the same set.

Using recycled items means skys the limit for this
challenge so come join the fun!

Tutorial Time with Speedy Tv

Friday means Tutorial Time has a new Challenge for you.

This time Tammylee has a tutorial on how to make paperbag flowers
After cutting out lots of flowers from the brown and white paper bags I
sprayed them with a few different colors of Shimmermist and ink then
following the directions scrunched and let dry before assembling
 and attaching to my card.
This flower was actually made from a white paper bag.
After coloring and then changing colors it looks like it was from
a brown one. It was interesting how the colors
reacted on white and brown.
This one was from a brown bag. I used the Sentiment from the
New Life Set and the bottom is stamped with the sheet music from
 the Just a Note Set.

Both these sets can be found at
bit misshapen as I had a LO started and they were different colors.
When I changed the colors they got a little messed up.
It has been one of those weeks, know what I mean.
The ribbon was dyed and scrunched with a old
vintage button sewn in the center. Stop over
you will find Tammylee's tutorial very informative.

supplied us with the sweetest images. Be sure to stop by and browse
their store of delightful images for your every occasion!
I printed and colored three planning to use
on one card but they seemed to want to go different directions Sooo
I made three different cards with them.

The first one is Molly Skates cut out with a
Spellbinder  Oval and attached to some
dotted Lost & Found dp reminding me of snow.
The snowflake was cut with my new die and another punched for a center.
A little lace and button embellie.

This one is Izzy's Ice Cream cut out and attached to the
little mat from one of my new Lost & Found pads.
The little loopy border is one of my new dies from MFT.
I cut my little letters and attached to the little banner.

This one is Kirby's Apple cut out and attached tomy
new chipboard gear and then attached to the rusty red.
The little red borders were embossed and added to
the stiched on strip. A little leaf border and
sentiment finishes it off.

Are you as happy to see Friday as I am? For todays TTSTV Pat Garvin
has put together a tutorial on Triple Stamping found here.
I like this technique, makes nice dimension and is quick and easy.
Following Pat's concise instructions I stamped the Sunflower Image
twice on the MFPHC premium 140lb paper layers and colored
them. Cut all the brown mats and then
attached them all together. The sentiment was
cut with a Spellbinder Tag and edges inked and some
jewels for a little embellie.
You will find this image, paper and many other stamping
products at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co.

Stop by to join us and you have the opportunity
to win this Stamp Set.
