Already Wednesday again and time for a new Pixie Cottage Challenge. I used the sketch this week. The theme is Go For The Gold.
Lots of tiny little areas to color and it was a bit of a challenge but I love the image.
Tried different colors for mat and finally decided the bold maroon was a good
compliment. Really liked the touch of bright white. Be sure to hop on
over and link up to the current party.

Have you heard of Operation Write Home?? They are an organization that collects and sends cards to the Men and Women serving our Country. They use these handmade cards to send home to their loved ones! If you have loved ones serving you know how difficult it is for them to leave their families. These handmade cards are a special way for them to send home personal messages! Sending the letters abroad is not a cheap undertaking and with the holidays coming up there are plenty of cards needing to go. OWH is in great need of FUNDS to ship these cards. Deedee and Katlyn have graciously drawn up several different image collections for you to purchase.

We would also encourage you to send cards to OWH. You can go HERE to the site for more information but there is one BIG requirement and
that is NO glitter. It could endanger lives!! Also it is best

Good Morning ladies... Tuesday Throwdown Challenge
for this week is a Shaped card. Our Sponsor is
Stampin Up Demonstrator Catherine Pooler.
The talented ladies on our team have some great
examples for you today so be sure to
stop by each of their blogs and give them some love.
I'm trying to make things that meet challenge
requirements and will fill my needs for this
busy time of year. I decided a leaf shape
would make a perfect thank you for ladies in my
Women's Ministry group. I drew a leaf then
folded all my 8 1/2 by 11 papers in half length wise. I placed the leaf on the fold as you can see the
left side of the leaf is a bit squared off so it will open.
I used my Stampin Up inks for this project. I dropped
yellows, browns greens and rusts on a piece of
foil then whiffed with water. After it all ran together
I pounced the leaves in it. I'm really happy how
they turned out, they are all a bit different. I then
made lighter colored papers and punched out
the small leaves to put on the sentiment. After
all the big leaves were colored I also randomly stamped with my SU canvas bg stamp using
brown to give a bit extra to them. I then used
a black marker to give some veining to the leaves.
In this pic you are able to see how it opens
from the side. On the inside I cut a piece of lighter colored paper so I would be able
to write a personal message to each of the ladies. A little faux stitching to finish it off.

The ladies at Heart Song have some lovely creations to inspire you today.
Come join us in our newest challenge, my favorite ...Flowers and/or Felt
I have used one of the new images, a sunflower
With the holidays and several birthdays just around the
corner Im working on gifts. My friend redid her bathroom with black tiles and brushed nickle accents and sunflowers. After water coloring several of sunflowers I cut them all out and mounted on the cut out base. I decorated three sides of this jar and lid with the sunflower image then filled it with some bath salts I made for her. Made a little tag with the instructions on it.
The base of the card was embossed then I sewed
around the entire card. Added the layers
stitched, sponged and foam dotted on.
Added the cut out sunflower and dyed some ribbon then tied on with the
little button. And no this card isnt curved
guess it was the angle I took the pic.

Here it is Wednesday again and time for a new challenge at The Pixie Cottage. Our theme is dark & Spooky and there is also a sketch you can choose to use. I used Michelle's spooky tree background image and the sketch. The image was water colored with some stickles added to the clouds. The background was darkened with chalk. The black was embossed with a dotted swiss folder and mounted on the dp. I drew the bat, spider and web to fit in the three little squares then foam dotted them on and tied the sentiment on with a strip of cheesecloth. Be sure to stop on by and join us.
little gift box to fill with treats and treasures. Some stiff plastic covered
wire wrapped around dowel for a handle.
Using a SU scalloped punch on
little white strip added. The big sheer periwinkle bow and leaves were added to the top and a button to the one on the box. Quick and a fun way to give a little gift.

Thinking pink I started out using a fun little print with lots of pink in it. I used SU pink & white for the rest of the card. The sentiment was cut out with a Spellbinder Label #20. The layers of scallops were also cut with Spellbinder I cut out the butterflies and water colored them, also added a little stickles to them. The little pink ribbon symbol for Breast Cancer in the corner with a little jewel finished it off.
There are many Breast Cancer sites and info available on line and in your local areas. BE SURE to inform yourself and take the appropriate actions. It can mean you life.

Our challenge today is Die Cuts and/or Sponged Background. Be sure
to hop on over to Heart Song Inspiration to see all the creative ideas
the team has for you!
I LOVE this Cherry Frame, so many fun possibilities! It speaks vintage to me so I used some lovely vintage dp from The Paperie. The image was water colored. I also love circles they always have such a great flow to them. Decided to use several layers cut with the Spellbinder Scalloped Circle. Plenty of stitching
real and faux, a little sponging for a bit of
distressing and some decorative corners made with a MS looped corner punch. Lastly made a bow and added an old vintage button because it reminded me of the cherries. Now be sure to hop on over and join us this week.

Started with the fall image called Autumn Raking
by Artish found here. First I water colored it and then
punched a few tiny leaves to add a little dimension and a couple layers for a mat. I had a piece of fall colored paper which I stamped with a couple little
leaf stamps then added a little additional color to them then stitched onto the ivory. Next I stamped, colored and punched & cut out the larger leaves for the corners. Finished with a piece of sheer knotted ribbon.
Sweet Stamps: Anything goes
For Passionately Artistic I have made a
don't the name of. Water colored with a little
chalked dabbed around the image for a little
glow. I cut a oval out to make a frame and
punched the corners. A chip board oval to
frame the sentiment. All put on the white
and burgandy paint put around the edges.

Here at Tuesday Throwdown we are looking for Halloween
creations. Our sponsor Robyn's Fetish gave us the images for this week.
I don't do Halloween so a gift bag seemed the best way to go.
I decorated it up, starting with a embossed and punched background.I used the Spellbinder die to created the little
hanging pennants. Cut a larger pennant and ran thru the
crimped for some added texture. After coloring the image I
cut it out and mounted on the scalloped white
then added it to the orange pennant.
Used a MS punch for the
edge of the fan fold medallion then added the reverse
scallop for the orange, added the letter 4. The little dotted
chip board letter seemed to be a fun addition. The number,
pennant and dots letters are glitzed up with some stickles.
