Tutorial Time with Speedy TV #36

Friday, my favorite day!! It's my turn to do the tutorial and I have chosen the Rock Salt Technique.
You will find the Tutorial Here along with the challenge. It is an easy technique just a  little time
consuming waiting on drying time. This post is long enough so I will not show the whole tutorial here,
just a glimpse. Stop by Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Co. for all your Stamping and
Scrapping needs. The winner will take home the beautiful Dogwood Stamp Set this week.
I have been so inspired by all the talented ladies doing these fabulous LOs so I have
used my pieces on a LO. Now there is a story behind this LO, we didnt spend Christmas at the
river!.My mom is Very family oriented and  has always modeled the importance of family,
she is also a geneology buff. She has made huge books will all the family history and
pics back to the 1500s for each family member. My sis, niece and I went together and
bought this huge 3x4 ft frame with a cool raised metal tree in the center and a
family saying across the bottom and it has 16 opening for pics. Now this is significant because that
is the exact amount we needed for our family. How cool is that!

My mom has 4 living children and among us we have12 children. Each of us needed a pic and
our children with their families. All of our out of town family sent their pics to us. Since non of us
had any recent photos  my niece planned a little photo shoot at the river on Sat before Christmas.
Think we were a little last minute finishing up this project lol! Well that morning it was cloudy cold
and windy so we waited till noon. All the guys moaned and groaned as we said they all had to
come to the river for pics but after we got there they really got in the swing of it and we had
so much fun. We did pics on the rocks, lying on the beach, up above the river etc. Anyways the
family pic frame turned out awesome, my mom cried to see her whole family represented in one spot,
as of course we knew she would! So all that to tell you this is one of the pics we took that day. It was
a little cool and windy but the sun came out and we were able to get lots of great pics. This one of my husband and I  is the only one my niece gave me, still waiting for the others!

I used some paste to create the raise sections of squares over the background then used several
different inks to color it. Next came some tearing and distressing, then stitched it to the blue. After
making up a variety of flower and greenery I added a couple premade and used them to frame the photo.
I added our name at the top and attached  the oval chipboard to a Spellbinder die cut then added the Christmas 2012.Here is a close look at some of the flowers. I really liked the way the big navy one turned out. Be sure to stop by and check out my teammates lovely creations this week.
This is a first, Im going to enter a Scrapbook Challenge

Beautiful LO and sounds like you found the perfect frame for your family pictures. Group shots are a bit of a hassle but they are so worth the effort. :) Love that salt technique. Have not tried it for ages. Will have to go "play". LOL
